I found this forum tinkering around on You Tube. I have been raw nearly 3 months and love it. I am not 100% and don't think I could live up to that stress. I do like my smoothie in the morning and later have fruit and more smoothie (usually.) I mostly have a big salad for the evening meal(s) I have been vegetarian for abt. 31 years and never claim perfection, but mostly vegan for the last 10 yrs or so. I started a remodel on my tiny kitchen and gave my old stove and hood away with the intention of creating an opening (sorta island like) in the wall where the stove goes. I finally ordered one and it came about the same time I discovered eating a great wonderful salad each evening. It wasn't really strange for me because I was veg for years, but ate cooked food too. I had heard of Raw Food, but suddenly I looked it up on the internet and voila, up came You Tube with a million (Well!) sites and I thought that's what I almost already am doing. I dug out my old '70s blender and the next morning I made a "smoothie." It was ok the 1st day, but then I tried to stuff it too much and it started to smoke and smell a little. I grabbed the plug out of the wall and assumed I had burned it up. I was hooked on greens tho and had to have a new blender. As much as I didn't want to spend for one, I felt it was for my health, so I muddled through until it came in the mail. I have made a smoothie ever since. lost the peanut butter sandwich for lunch and the microwaved oatmeal for breakfast. It's been a long, long, road from being sick, oh, so sick for so long to poached fish and vegis to macrobiotic to vegetarian to vegan to Raw. All this says a lot about why I didn't really have a lot of detox symptoms. I also had got off caffeine a number of times before, but while I was waiting for the new blender, it became clear that I wasn't going to be heating water in the microwave any more, so weaned myself off of coffee and tea again. I still have nothing to cook on, so I laugh that God works in mysterious ways and with a hard headed broad like me, sometimes you have to give away the stove to get the message. Raw for life is now my mantra now. So Hi for now. Nice to get acquainted.
