Hi everybody,
I'm Constance, living in Brazil, and first of all want to excuse my bad English. I hope you can understand me and give me some help.

I have been a vegetarian (not vegan) for the last 30 years. Getting older (now 50), I gained weight, from max. 136 pounds to max. 178 pounds. Last Saturday I weighed 165, so there ist still quite a lot to go.
Now I have been about 95% raw since July, 16. The first 2-3 weehs I lost about 2 pounds a week (at my raw-start I was about 175), but since then loosing weight has been pretty hard. So I decided to go 100% raw and don't want to weigh so often, but I have the feeling that I'm still stuck.

What can I do? Should I eat less nuts and more fruit and vegetables? Drink more water? Also I've tried to make some crackers without having a dehydrator and they were just awful. I miss something like bread or crackers.

I know that staying raw is the best way to stay healthy and good looking and I love to see all your accomplishments. These encourage and motivate me to stay raw, although it hasn't been easy!

Thank you for your advice :)
Hope I'll be able, very soon, to post some before&after photos!
Constance

increase ur fruit intake as much as possible . have a green smoothie everyday (located on this site in the recipe section it will be the first thread u see titled 70 green smoothie recipes ) and u can still have ur crackers dehydrated , just try to wean urself to once a day . having the green smoothie insures u will get ur greens in , which is very important and the fresh fruit will help the weight melt off . if u dont exerise , try adding it into ur routine about 3 to 4 times a week with workouts being about 30 to 45 mins long . this should help . try yoga a lot of this sites users say that yoga helps them become lean .
there also is a section for 50 yrs and older . it might make it a little easier to share with someone in ur age range . good luck to u and it will come off , dont worry about that . 100 % is best but there are many testimonals on here about people who have been at a very high weight and was 90% high raw , with some steamed high green veggies and they still lost a lot of weight .

Thank you very much for your reply! I already have a green smoothie for breakfast every day since July. But I could definitely add some exercise and the hint for the section 50 yrs + will be helpful, too. I noticed that I eat more dehydrated fruits than fresh ones, I'll try to change this. There is no question for me about staying raw (or almost 100% raw), but it is easier when you share and motivate with others.

Welcome to the forum.

Nuts are more difficult to digest then just fruits your body is using up a lot of energy to do this it would be much better to eat more fruits then nuts, fruits are much easier to digest, also like others say do some exercise after eating just go for a walk to let your body start to work and then things will go by it self, ones you walk around your home you will see many things you normaly not pay attention too and just use a MP3 player or something with just music you enjoy then you even walk with more joy and even not want to stop any more, this is what I have been doing the past 6 Month and enjoy it some much that I every day look forward to my walk.

Take care and keep us updated on your status.

You are right, Dagelinckx, I'll try to eat less nuts. About exercise: haven't much free time, so it's difficult. But I should at least try to make any exercise 3 times the week. Even once the week would be better than none. :-)

What are you doing for exercise? Any healthy food lifestyle is great, but can only get you so far without regular exercise. Also, try not to obsess over the number on the scale and measure yourself. Changing eating habits is great for helping you lose weight initially, but you've got to increase your exercise either by working out more often or longer or higher intensity.

You can do it!

Hi Tricia,
actually I'm not doing any exercise at all...I never liked exercise very much and I haven't time for doing some. I always read that who lived on raw food could be lazy. I must say I liked the idea of not having to do exercises in order to loose weight.
There seems to be no way out! I'll give it a try, lets see how often I'll be able to exercise in a week.
Thank ypu for your reply! :)
