View Full Version : Soaking sunflower seeds
How do you get the seeds to stay in the salt solution? Mine are simply floating to the top!

That's my question as well.
Apparently we have found my problem! I thought I was supposed to soak them is a salt solution before drying them. I'll put them in plain water.....
Thanks for the help!

I don't soak mine in salt water. I use sunflower seeds that have the black part (the hull??) removed and I soak them for like 4-6 hours and eat then or I will continue to drain and rinse and continue rinsing every 8-12 hours until sprouted.
I am not sure what you are trying to do, but they don't need salt IMO!! :)

If you want them to sprout, soak them for 6 hours, then drain and sprout for a day. You don't have to wait for these to sprout to use them, if you need them sooner. You can use right after soaking. There are some great sprouting threads on this site! Just do a search...:)
I'm REALLY new at this. What is the best way to get the sunflower seeds out of the hulls?
you just eat them as they are x
