I woke up this morning craving a raw brownie, i had just made a batch the night before. I opened the fridge and they were all gone! My husband the SAD eating brownieaholic came around the corner and said, Sorry I ate all your brownies honey, i will buy you more today.

He ate all of them not realizing they were raw!

I told him they were raw brownies and they were made from cashews and dates, and he said "No way I hate cashews and dates" LOL! Seriously my man is a SAD food eating coke drinking meat and potatoes guy.

My husband, I love him, but oh my heck I might just kill him, or maybe I will make him more brownies if it gets him to go raw.

News Flash:

He doesn't hate cashews and dates lol

I hope he gets you the ingredients to make some more. I fancy making some myself now but I don't have a dehydrator. Rats!

My DH keeps sneaking more of the Cheezy Itz late at night (after I've gone to bed)! They're all going to be gone soon - but if it gets him into eating some raw in his diet - I'm all for it :-)

That's funny! My wife is the same way (but she is lacto ovo not meat eating!). I will make myself something yummy and she will eat it all! Last week when I was juice fasting I made some raw grape juice and she swore up and down that she didn't like raw grape juice and when I came back into the room I found her drinking a jar of it and saying, "Hey this isn't bad!"

That's funny! I made some last week without a dehydrator and they were great. I used walnuts instead of cashews. The consistency was fudgey, but it was a great "scoop a spoonful" snack.

Amoux, thats exactly how I feel. If he's eating raw, its not a bad thing in my book.

I don't have a dehydrator and whilst I am not totally happy with the concept of raw cacao I would be happy to try this recipe very occasionally if you could point me in the direction of it.

I'm so sorry, after searching here a bit, I realized I got the recipe from her blog site. I did not make the icing and I put in the fridge, not the freezer. I used a blender instead of the food processor. It kinda reminds me of tootsie roll flavor and texture. I would suggest trying it with carob powder, but I think I remember reading that you didn't like that, Mystic.

Here it is.

Ingredients for brownie:
1 c walnuts
1 c dates
1/4 c cocao powder

Directions for brownie mixture:

Food process the brownie ingredients until blended and dry chunky.
Press into a small pan, put aside.
Rawkin' Note: You will notice there isn't much, but trust the brownie gods.

Ingredients for Icing:

2 avocados
1/3-1/2 c agave nectar
1/4 c cocoa powder
2 T coconut oil
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
dash salt
dash cinnamon

Directions for icing:

Put all icing ingredients into blender or food processor, and blend on hi till smooth
Spread icing over brownies and pop in freezer to set for 1 hr. then cut into 12 pieces.

Rawkin' Note: You will notice there's 3 times as much icing as brownies. Go with it. It freezes into absolute heaven. Trust me. :)

sounds yum but can you clarify how much colcunut oil as it just says " 1 T " ...does the T mean teaspoon or tablespoon ? Also when you say "cocoa powder" do you mean "cacao powder" ? do you think carob powder would work too ?

a capital "T" usually denotes Tablespoon; whereas a small 't' is a teaspoon.

Cocao Powder means raw cacao powder. and, Yes, you can sub raw carob powder. The taste will be somewhat different, but still delicious!
