Is putting wheatgrass in the Vitamix ok and is it the same as juicing it with a juicer? I noticed the Jamba Juice (a smoothie place) uses a juicer. I am just trying to get the same potency. I tried wheatgrass in our Vitamix and there were still little pieces of grass, but maybe I a didn't mix it as much as I should have?

I only juice wheatgrass with a masticating juicer so it doesn't get heated. The juicer is an expensive purchase, but it's really worth it if you're going to use it once a day or more.

It will clog. I never tried because of this information. If you have no juice, you could try to chew it and spit the fibre. You can buy also a cheep manual juice (like the one design to grind the meat).

If you buy a good juicer someday, the twin gear green stars is my favourite one to do the wheat grass.

All the best

Someone suggested cutting the wheatgrass into short pieces (like less than one inch long) before throwing it into the vitamix. I am doing that and the result is beautiful. I am adding wheatgrass to my green smoothie and I treat it just like a green. But I add just a little bit wheatgrass to my GS. Much wheatgrass will ruin the taste of GS.

I have specified wheatgrass juicers (plural) and if I'm really pressed for time, I often make it in my Vita-Mix, no prob. It is better if you cut it, but sometimes, I don't even do that. I keep ice on hand in case it's getting hot, and throw a couple cubes in there as I'm doing it. Of course the key is that you must have water in there (or a liquid) with the grass...

Running it through a nutmilk bags takes seconds when you're done. If you don't have a nutmilk bag, Wheatgrass is the one thing that juices easily through a regular strainer.
