I just had to share this with you all. My wife came into the room this morning and said check this out and wiggled her butt and her pants fell off. She had lost 12 lbs and some inches went too. I told her that was a real Sexy move she did. She does not have to lose as much as me but she could stand to lose like 30 lbs. But now she has joined in and eating all raw now. That is just fantastic. Douglas In Calif..... :) :D

That is terrific. I envy you, a spouse joining you Raw.

I have been following the raw diet for 3 months. This morning my husband told me he is feed up with it. (He is not raw so why is he feed up ?) He wants me to be normal again. He says live food raw food vs cooked is a hog wash. It is quacks trying to sell books and products. He says he is as healthy eating cooked meat and whole live foods do nothing to prevent disease. He is often gasy and has GERD but he says the raw will not do a thing for that (he takes perscription drugs..) So he said I am not to "talk" about it anymore.

Now I was thinking I will be mean and make him a high sugar high fat desert...he follows low carb diet...and I will say..Oh thats all hog wash, some oone just tryng to sell you a low carb product....grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

And I already gave up talking to my friends. My bestfriend is cutting apples from diet (she started eating them when I did ..) but told me the sugars make her smooth...?? so I am learning...just keep my mouth shut.

twinee I'm so sorry you are going through this! Please stay strong and eat how you want! It is probably better not to argue. It will only cause distention and strife through your marriage. Just continue to support his low carbing even though he doesn't support your rawing.

My hubby supports me but he often is disbelief that raw does as much as folks claim.

He doesn't believe the before and after pictures, he said he could take a before and after picture of me on the same day and I could pass it off as one.

He says cameras, lighting and angles can make faces look different. I told him about Michelle on www.fromsadtoraw.com he said, well, ya, she lost weight, so that is different, but he doesn't believe a lot of the ones on here.

In some ways it does make sense but you can't deny the way someone feels, the physical difference in blood sugar or the spring in their step. A photo can *not* show that.

(Sorry Sharon, this comment from your husband was too good to pass up. I hope you don't take offense.)

Being sarcastic now: Yah I'm faking the whole thing ;) ...I am a professional photographer with lighting in my living room, notice the 3megapixel picture, not 8 or above. I choose to use less resolution as it can fake people out easier. I also edit out all of the excess weight in my body, clothes and face. Pretty good right? I'm also magically shrinking....losing 6 pant sizes...yah that's it...that's what I'm doing :) . It's all make believe. I don't weigh myself and share it with others as I'd still be the same weight, that's why I only take pictures and modify them. :)

Being real now: The truth is, people can believe whatever they want, and it's not going to get me back to SAD foods. I hope I was one that he and others are in disbelief about...as I know I've made another impression no matter what belief they have.

The other truth is, I've done exactly what my pictures say they've done....believe it or not, and still going strong. I'll continue taking pictures as I get healthier too. The reason? It helps me keep going, and I'm sure it helps others as well.

I'm sorry, but I just had to let that rant out.

With all due respect to you Sharon,

Douglas, congrats to you AND your wife! I bet she feels great and you probably do too! ;)
Twinee1, I feel your frustration! My dh and kids were high raw and he announced this week that they are no longer going to be high raw. That they are adding it ALL back in.
Oh, I did get upset, but you know what. I cannot control another human being!
I can only control what I do for myself. So, I continue on the raw path.
It saddens me greatly that they choose to eat the way they do, but when the kids are with me they eat healthy, but when dad is around it's up to him what they eat.
I have decided to not get upset about it and just do the best that I can.

Tim, great post!! Yes, we are all faking it! ;) And Sharon, hope I don't offend as well!

Douglas. It is great to hear that your wife is doing well with raw. Pants that are too big would make many a woman happy! Keep supporting each other.

douglas, congrats to your wife! Ive done that move several times in several different sizes on high raw. Infact, a timely coincidence here, last night I was reaching up to get something out of the cupboard for my husband while he was eating his dinner (cooked), and he said, "Jesus honey, we're going to have to buy you some new clothes. Your pants look like your trying to be a gangster-girl."

LOL! I knew they were too big, I used to fill them out, but now I can pull them up mid-way up to my breasts. Hey, maybe if I keep wearing my now too-big pants around I'll get some new ones out of this?! :D

Plucked,

LOL, that is what happened to me!
All my clothes are too big now and I've gone down at least 4 sizes and had nothing that complimented me at all.
So, we went on our trip to Oregon and my Father in Law bought me a few new outfits.
So, it does pay to keep wearing the too big of clothes.
Christmas is not too far away! Maybe a new wardrobe is in order for Christmas! :)

Ha! I dont know if i can wait till christmas. But perhaps I will start wearing only the bigger pants around that time! Espicially around my dad. Do I hear "gift certificate"?

Sorry to have hijacked your site, Douglas. Congratulation on your wife's progress!

You're right Tim. I've experienced it as well as you and many others. He hasn't seen your photo yet. I will show it to him.

He has really stated that the weight loss shows but he doesn't see 'glowing skin' or 'sparkling eyes'.

Another time I was trying to turn some friend on to raw, I took them to Shazzie's site. They said a similar thing about her before and afters. I guess there is no convincing certain people.

woo hoo! I hope the orgasms get better too, what a bonus!

My clothes rapidly got too big also and though I've always been thin, I didn't mind, because I think I look good.

>>In some ways it does make sense but you can't deny the way someone feels, the physical difference in blood sugar or the spring in their step. A photo can *not* show that.<<

Just wanted to mention that the thing I agree with is, yes, I can take an entire roll of photos of myself, find some bad ones and good ones and it could look like my appearance has improved.

In defense of my hubby I wanted to say that he doesn't discount that the diet is healthy or that folks have lost weight, but I think he has difficulty with some of the miraculous healings that a lot of folks have experienced.

I support using photgraphs to help you identify with yourself from before and see how much you've improved. I also identify with journalling - when your health improves, you often forget the problems you had from before.

Douglas,

I know what it feels like to have your pants fall down. As of this morning, I've dropped 6 pant sizes since 9/11/05. That's pretty good. The bad part is I bought two pairs of jeans last week, and I tried them on this morning and they were a bit too big. My wife said that I have to lose 4 more sizes before I can go shopping again :).

Sharon,

Didn't mean to make you upset if I did. Each of us has there own opinions, I felt strongly about this one the other day...don't know why. Sounds like you're a good leader in your family....keep showing your husband the amazing results, and maybe one day he'll believe how miraculous this really is.

Best regards to both of you,

Tim

LOL.. I was going to ask what you were going to do now without PANTS!!

I'm sure there's a dress code at work. ( grin )

You know, you could, in a pinch, just put on a sarong ( okay, it's not called that for men, but I can't think of the name. ) - and just wrap a very long piece of kickin' it material around your waist and tie.. just make sure you cover your knees.

hahahaha... The Emporer of Raw has no Clothes!!!!

What a cool challenge for you, huh?

Now you've come face to face with the reason why women hang on to their Fat, Medium, and Skinny clothes..... :) Before you laughed at us, eh? Well, we do that to conserve! heh...

There are a few pants I cannot wear either... But, I've lost more in my upper body than in the totality of my lower, but my lower is about to give way to its fat because it's become very loosened.. and that means it's ready to evacuate ! Good.. GET LOST! :)

Douglas.. I'd love to pull that trick your wife did! How EXCITING for her!

rotflol Renee,

My wife laughed too. I feel bad as I throughout all my small clothes this summer. I'm sure some was outdated, but some were not. Thanks for clueing me in on that about women's behavior.

BTW, I won't be walking around in a sarong or what ever it's called. :)

Awww, C'mon.. don't you wanna look like a Gladiator??

Tisk.. ( making chicken noises ).

Our family recently met a man from Yemen ( sounds like a Longfellow poem coming on ) - and he still wears his native skirt-dress ..thing... I liked the look. Wouldn't be too conducive for the splits, but.. he's dressed at LEAST!

Now that you mention it, I could put on my Scottish Kilt. I lived there for a number of years.

Douglas - that is wonderful to hear - this past weekend my husband wore a pair of jeans that he couldn't even bring the teeth of the zipper to wink at one another - all because of raw. He is sparkling and his eyes twinkle!
