View Full Version : Losing weight after eating raw? family concerned..

24 years old,5'9. Weighed 156 in may,down to 146/147 couple months later after cutting out 90-95% gluten and dairy ,now im at 137(since juicing,going raw). Hm,wonder where this weight off is coming from. People are concerned because im already thin,and think its unhealthy. My stomach is much more tone and muscular now,I dont have a 6 pack,but it looks like I eat healthy or workout.

If your raw diet is balanced and you are getting the right amount of fat then you really shouldn't worry. If you are worried about your weight go to a doctor and have them check your blood levels for vitamins and have them do a physical and ask them about you weight.

My wife is a lact-ovo vegetarian and is 5'9-5'10 and is like 125-130 is lbs (and is your age if you were born in 1986 as your screen name implies) With her bone structure she is a size 2. Her family is always going on and on about how she is to thin, but they are wrong. She is not emaciated and eats plenty of food. Her doctor has given her a clean bill of health and says that her BMI is fantastic (she is on the lower end of normal). We make sure that she gets enough good fats from things like home made salad dressings made with hemp oil and avocado (I say "we make sure" because she has a hard time eating enough since she is studying or chasing the baby all day).

If you love your body and are eating enough food and getting enough fat then I wouldn't be worried (but if you are go to a doctor). Also, I am sure that people will be around shortly, but I have heard that when you first go raw and are already thin you may loose some weight but it usually balances back out.

I just checked online and if you are a male (again, I am assuming as your screen name is kevin) then your BMI is 20.2, which is the low normal range.

eat more raw food if you are concerned about weight loss.

If you are losing weight and getting too skinny - eat more calories. Figure out how many you need a day based off your activity level and track your food in a program such as cronometer (http://cronometer.com/).

Do your fat as a last meal , this will prevent from muscle mass lost.

Continue to do your raw food, most people don't understand the true benefit of raw food or cannot comprehend what is normal or not.

What isn't normal is high blood pressure/low blood pressure, cancer, malfunction of thyroid, skin rash, fatigue, poor kidney/adrenal function, depression or simply disease/illness. This isn't normal and people should be concern and change their life style.

If your body needs to lose weight for now, trust it. I went underway my first year and i now gain it back up. Your body store very toxic substance in your fat if it cannot get ride of it. It does that to protect you, now that you are eating healthy, it cans get ride of that.

Eat your fruits and don't be afraid for them. Eat them in the morning even up to lunch if you can. You will have so much energy and you will burst so much of it that you might start running a marathon. Do your greens after. Greens will give you nice beautiful muscle if your work out. Wheat grass and coconut water, very lovely.

Read 12/step to raw food, it is a great book that help to cope with family/friend issue and give you great tips.

You can also do vegetable juice in the afternoon.

Don't give up, you are doing the right thing for you. You need to reset your body to health. Our family passed on their weakness on us from genetic, but it is reversal.
