FOUND THIS & I THINK ITS IMPORTANT FOUND ON THE INTERNET

Apples, diced or sliced 1 pound = 3 medium = 2-¾ cups (1 apple = shy 1 cup)

Apricots, dried 1 pound = 3 cups

Apricots, fresh 1 pound = 5 to 8 medium = 2¼ cups sliced

Bananas 1 pound = 3 to 4 medium = 2 cups sliced, 1-1/3 cups mashed

Berries (except strawberries) 1 pound = 2 cups

Cherries, canned 1 pound = 1-¾ to 2 cups

Dates (pitted) 1 pound = 2-½ cups

Grapes, seedless 1 pound = 2-½ cups

Lemon juice 6 medium lemons = 1 cup juice

Lemon zest, grated 1 lemon = 2 to 3 teaspoons

Lime juice 8 medium limes = 1 cup juice

Orange juice 3 medium oranges = 1 cup

Orange zest, grated 1 orange = 1 tablespoon

Peaches, canned, sliced 16-ounce can = 1-¾ to 2 cups

Peaches, fresh, sliced 1 pound = 4 medium = 2 cups

Pears, fresh, sliced 1 pound = 4 medium = 2 cups

Pineapple, fresh, cubed 2 pound = 1 medium = 3 cups

Cabbage, fresh, shredded 1 pound = 4 cup; medium head is 2 pounds

Carrots, sliced 1 pound = 8 to 9 large = 4 cups sliced (2 large carrots = 1 cup)

Cauliflower, fresh 1 pound = 1-½ cups

Cauliflower, frozen 10 ounces = 2 cups

Celery, chopped 1 rib = ¾ cup

Garlic, minced 1 med. clove = ½ teaspoon

Ginger root, peeled, chopped 2 ounces (.13 pound) = 5 tablespoons

Thanks Cindy. I definately needed something like this for certain recipes. Also, I'm glad to know I only need 3 oranges for a cup of fresh OJ. I was thinking I needed 10 oranges.....silly me!

Oh thank you for posting this, Cindy! I've been trying to guesstimate what the poundage was for things I've been eating... and it's tough. This is very helpful!
