Hello everyone! It has been quite awhile since I was around here. Sadly I fell off of the raw food wagon. Still tried every once in awhile but just settled with cooked for the most part.
Well, now I am pregnant with our 8th blessing and needing motivation. I am at least 20 lbs overweight and having a hard time staying on raw. Anyone with any advice or encouragement? Raw recipes that saved your life? I do not want to keep gaining.
I have started a raw food journal to post what I eat each day to help keep me accountable. That helps somehow.
Also I am swelling a bit and that worries me. My midwife is going to flip if she sees me like this. With my 6th & 7th pregnancy I was raw quite a bit and never swelled. Anyone else experienced this?
My blog is www.rawfoodlady.blogspot.com if anyone wants to follow me and leave comments for me. That would be a great encouragement! I will be trying to post recipes and pics too!

Congrats for finding your way back here. I have never been pregnant nor do I know what advice to give someone that is.. but I bet if raw is as healthy as it is for most people, it must be great for pregnancies. What a lucky child. Just remember what goodness and health you are bringing not only yourself but to the person you are bringing into this world.

I am feeling more motivated today! I did order a Vita-mix 5200 and that is VERY motivating!!! I am excited about all the yummy creations I can make. The only time I was successful being raw I had a pretty good blender. Now I am going to have a wonderful blender!! I just have to stay on this path for my health and the baby. Thank you for the reminder!!!

hello im a raw pregnant lady too !!! i started out raw before i found out i was pregnant and sadly my midwife thinks more like a doctor then i thought she would , i was worried about my pregnancy and her concerns about my diet . this is my second pregnancy and my first that i was attempting raw . i fell off too . became vegan and gained a massive amount of weight . the thing that motivated me was my hubby left for a deployment and i was tired of looking in the mirror and seeing all the fat surrounding my unborn child . it shouldnt be there . i started by making sure i have a container of fresh juice in my fridge at all times , plenty of almond mylk , and my fridge is loaded with fresh fruits . another thing that keeps me motivated is the photos of the raw food from rawfoodrecipes.com . check it out . it should really help u out . i love looking through all of the pics and picking out my food . it helps so much .

Check out www.evolvewithflavor.com for more motivation.
And take it easy on yourself - do one thing per day that is good and feel good about it. I think we are so often thinking about what Raw Foods is NOT, or why the world is so against us, instead of simply doing what we can and being DONE with it.
Think longer term (but not too long), and you will inevitably succeed more. I fell off the bandwagon when I put too much pressure on myself to convert, but then saved myself when I started taking it slower (and also having the professional Raw Foods Chef I am partnered with help me :) )

Congratulations, you will do great.
Focus on all the positive that you are doing for your body and this little one.
Eat tone of fruits in the morning, and follow your body craving. (if you crave for something cook or unhealthy, research which nutrient you need and find it in fresh fruits/vegetables and green). Keep your blood clean by doing green smoothie or green juice. But most of all eat your fruits. You can add soaked gojji berries, golden berries in your smoothie and hemp seed for the omega 3/6.
Make room for the good stuff as much as you can. Learn to breastfeed (watch dvd or take course).
Don't worry about the weight, it will come off in good time, in the mid time know that you are beautiful and cute now.
All the best
