Hi and welcome Sandra. I wouldn't worry about calories in raw food so much at first. Your body will get so nourished, it will tell you when to eat and when not to. Same as any food plan I guess if you really need numbers...1800 - 2000 sounds normal.

Peace, Bonnie

I wouldn't worry about amount of calories unless your doctor (I'm still shocked about the Dr BTW). I would just say to eat thoughout the day whenever you are hungry. I am overweight, but when I switched to eating raw I was shocked by how much food I ate and I was really hungry. Don't let this scare you! Just eat anything raw you want (within reason, like don't go bite a tree or something ;) ). If you work or go to school I would suggest bringing some nuts or seeds with you so you can snack on them whenever you have the need.

Welcome to the board!!

With raw food, you go with the amount of energy. Meaning eat as much you want and don't worry about the calorie. If you have health issue, it would be best for you to do as much whole food as possible. Such you could do fruit in the morning up to lunch as much you want. Then a nice green smoothie and whatever you want for diner. Allow a minimun of 1 hour after your last fruit to eat something else.

You will be healthy, don't give up hope.
