I have not yet started eating raw because I am trying to get as much information as possible before I go into it.
I was curious to see what everyones daily meals are like.. example for breakfast, lunch, dinner & snacks.
also what do you eat when you go out to restaurants with people or if you have to travel somewhere how do you cook meals? it seems difficult.

There are many and various possible menues, it depends on what you like. I like eating fruit, so I eat fruit all day, and salads in the evening. I like to start my day with a glass of orange juice. In the morning I tend to eat juicy fruit. My evening salads contain lots and lots of greens. I love fruit smoothies. Sometimes I make zuccini pasta, or lasagne. I make sweets from dried fruit and nuts for my children. I have a 2-tray dehydrator, but I hardly ever use it. Sometimes I will make a buchwheat base pizza, or banana pancakes for my daughter.

Food today:
B: Vice Cream ( you can have ice cream for breakfast - if you feel like it, and I did ) ( 6 ounces )
L: Pizza ( less than a 4 in crust)
D: Large salad, veggies dipped in curried spinach dip
Pieces of mango as a snack
a snitch here or there of something I was making
I have one tray of pest stuffed mushrooms and 3 trays of spring roll wrappers in the dehydrator, and I'm getting up from here to make a large set of ginger nori ( gingered vegetables - no one could tell meat was not in there - rolled into untoasted seaweed papers, dipped into oriental sweet sauce.. oh... watch our eyes roll backwards )
Raw lemonade with agave syrup for sweetener
That was a heavy ( as in feeling ) day today. Tomorrow will not be as heavy, because I'm going to smoothy tomorrow and whole fruit it up instead.
I can do whatever I want... and I was just as sick, if not more than you 6 weeks ago. Healing will come in its time, and if your body is still freaking out for a while, that's normal. After a while, it will very much calm down. One day you'll like something, the next day you'll hate it.... its weird!
C'mon... take the Uncooked plunge!
Hi Britanie,
There's nothing difficult about this at all. Once you get Alissa's book, so much more of it will make sense. She makes it SO EASY to understand, and to do. Preparing food is super easy. Chop up a few things, mix them together, and viola, a fancy gourmet raw meal!
My strategy for dining out is to eat before I go, then just order a salad. That way I can still dine with everyone.
Traveling just requires a little planning. Since you don't need to "cook" anything you just need a cooler. Prepare a few things in advance and stick them in the cooler. Then of course there's fruit... no refigeration needed, just throw some apples, oranges, bananas in a bag and you're good to go.
Best of luck to you!

If you head over to the forum entitled "Living and Raw food preparation", many of us have taken pictures of our meals from time to time (I did the other day as well as Secret Heart(?) in a thread called "Peek at my dinner!"). Look for the threads with paper clips attached to the title to see visuals.

I think the easiest way to eat raw, is to imagine yourself on a deserted island, with all the fresh fruits and veggies in the world, then start eating.
So, the way you do this, is you go to the produce section of your store, and just buy one of each thing you like (or more) and take it home and eat it.
when you are done eating all the fun fruits and veggies, you can then start experimenting if you like.
But I usually just eat fresh fruits most of the day, and maybe at night I might eat something more prepared.
Like
Breakfast
pineapple
banana
oranges
apples
snack
fruits left over from breakfast
Lunch
Salad
tomatoes
lemon as dressing
olive oil as dressing
Snack
any kind of nuts that I feel like eating
Dinner
maybe a tostada made like this
1 nutloaf burger, or nut pate'
on a collard leaf
with some tomatoe
fresh slice of white onion
fresh jalepeno
cilantro
chili powder
sea salt
or some such thing.
but, when you are ready, you will do this.

Not difficult at all Britanie~~
I always order salads when going to eat and I always have something that I love and is like a treat when going somewhere that I know there will be food. For example, on Friday's is our homeschool group and there is always a tea table with lots of cookies or sweetbreads, etc. And today I am making mock tuna,,, I love that and it will be satisfying to me. Last week I brought raw apple pie and shared it and everyone thought it to be very yummy!!!
I always have smoothie's for breakfast
Lunch is whatever I am hungry for, mock tuna, apple pie, fruit or vegies, nut and seeds,, just whatever sounds good that I have.
Then snacks on any of the above before dinner. Adn for dinner it could be a large salad, or some dehydrated foods that I had prepared that day.
You will feel so good on raw that you will crave these foods during the day. At first it will be hard because the cooked cravings can set in, so just provide yourself with whatever sounds really good to you.
Best of luck Britanie :)

I don't know if they are online,,,, the mock tuna is from Allisa's book, and the apple pie is from a book by Serene Allison. Do you have a dehydrater? The pie has a crust that,,, at least in her recipe,, is a granola that is dehydrated and made into a crust. Then just the apples, cinnamon, raisins, and dates for the filling. It is yummy.
I woke up at 4:30 this morning and made 2 of the apple pies,, one to take to homeschool group today( I shared it with everyone.) and the other for our church fellowship group tonight.....it is one of the fav's for my SAD friends.
Anyways, I could Pm you the recipes later if you want them. Teh mock tuna is from alfalfa sprouts and mung sprouts, celery, onion, kelp powder, and I can't remember what else. Both are sooooooooooooo yummy.
So you are gonna start raw??? :)
