I am looking to buy a vitamix. Now, with a vitamix, it's not like a Jack o Lane juicer, right? It's better? I saw that you can put any type of veggie and you can blend everything, and it turns out like a smoothie. I think the Jack o Lane one has the pulp that comes out the back and you throw away. But, isn't it good to eat everything, not just the juice? Sorry for allthe questions! What type of Vitamix would you recommend? Any bargain websites out there?

Vitamix's RAWk!! :woot: It's like a blender on Steroids! SERIOUSLY!! it can turn TREES into fine powder! (ok - maybe that's a bit of a stretch there!) lol.... but it is wonderful. If you enjoy smoothies, ice cream, or want to make cheeze cakes, sauces - this blender is the one for you.
I decided to get one a few years ago when I had a raw food catering business. My cheeze cakes were in hot demand - they tasted great (and I had no complaints) but personally I was not happy with the texture ... just a bit grainy. I decided if I wanted to put out a quality product I really needed a quality tool to give my customers a TOP NOTCH PRODUCT. and OMG.... I was shocked at the difference my Vitamix made!
I have the Vitamix 5200 and I also got the 'dry blade' mixer with it. I was using a coffee grinder to grind down nuts, seeds etc, but this was taking me forever because i could only do small batches in the coffee grinder. In the Vitamix Dry blade mixer - I could do a cup (or more) at a time and the end result was like fine baby powder! the one tool in my kitchen I will NEVER regret getting is my Vitamix! :cheer: RAWk on!

A Vitamix is a high speed blender NOT a juicer. I love my Vitamix. MY smoothies are smooth unlike when I go to my sisters and use hers and have chunky smoothies (oxymoron). I can make ice cream soups for the family (Non raw family). I use my Vitamix at least once a day since the day I bought it.
I have even been known to take it to my sisters so I can have smooth smooties!
You can get a refurbished one(specials right now) and you can get free shipping codes.

Do some homework and read the differences between juicers and blenders. With a Vita Mix you make smoothies, etc. and you CAN juice with it but it's more work...BUT you will only need to buy one machine. A juicer does not make smoothies but it can do some other things as well. Try to decide what is more important to you, smoothies or juice. Many (like me) own both.

I've been a die hard juicer for years. I'm now being told I don't get enough fiber (it's hard to believe) so now I am going to be adding smoothies to the regimen. I am pretty sure I am going to go with a reconditioned unit and use this Vitamix promotion code (http://gotgreensrevolution.com/vitamix-promotion-code.html) to get a discount.

I am looking forward to getting a Vitamix 'cause I'll be able to make my own nut milks too.
