Supposedly I should get betting non-parishable foods...this eliminates the produce section.

I want to keep eating raw. What can one get right before a hurricane (if it does attack us)?

bananas don't have to be refrigerated, and apples hold up pretty well. Oranges can be out for a time, too. I munch on cucumbers and peppers just the way they are, so those would be good for short term storage. Most root veges hold up well ... carrots, beets... Don't know how long cabbage keeps non refrigerated. Nuts/seeds & dates would be good to have. Avocados. I'd make sure I had a sprouting bag and some sprout seeds. ... and jugs of water of course.

Hope you fare okay in the storm.

Update:

It was no big deal in DC and even if it was, I feel like I should've known these things :P

Nonetheless, thanks! :)
