I didn't post it on the day but... on the 23rd of August I celebrated my four year anniversary of being raw.

My honey and I went to a raw restaurant and had an amazing dinner together. Brought home a little tray of cookies for later and literally spent the day focusing on  It was a really beautiful way to celebrate my journey over the past four years.

Just think... four years ago I was approx. 300 pounds, very very unhealthy and unhappy. Now I'm approx. 135 pounds, super healthy and happier than I've ever been before in my life. :throw hearts:

Raw RAWKS!!! If you are new to raw please know this... keep it simple, take it one meal at a time and just try to make the healthiest choices you can. Don't stress over your food... enjoy it. Love it. Make it a celebration every time you put something into your mouth...

And remember... YOU are sooooooooo worth the time and effort!!!

:cheer:

Hey you!!!!

I'm celebrating right along with you since I found raw and Alissa in Feb 2007! I wish that I can say that I've been 100% raw the entire time, but realistically I've had times when I haven't been. But, I've never given up and I've stayed as close to raw as I possibly can. I think success is never giving up...if you fall off, get back up. Do better today than I did yesterday...

When I look at my diet 4 years, I honestly can't believe I used to eat that way! It's unthinkable to me now. Raw just tastes too good. But, I love nuts way too much! I really need to find a balance. I'm making meals with nuts and snacking on them all day. One problem is that I am keeping them in Mason jars (I have a high turnover!!!) in plain sight. I walk in the kitchen, see them and crunch away without even thinking about it. I think today I'm gonna take my nuts out of the jars and freeze them. That way I won't see them and just eat without thinking. I haven't lost as much weight along the way as you have, but I'm happy to say that I'm nowhere near I was when I started at 215 pounds! And, I've seen so many other changes that I'm happy with.

I'm gonna start a juice fast today! I'm gonna miss not seeing your posts every day, but I know you'll be there in spirit! I'm gonna just take it one day at a time and remember your words of encouragement and wisdom when I've fasted in the past. I know I will miss the chewing sensation of the nuts and there is no substitute for it in fasting. But, I remember what you said in a post a while ago: "The food (nuts) will be there after my fast!" :). Hopefully I will gain better control over them and find the balance I definitely need. (I don't know how this turned into a novel!!!!)

Many HUGS to you!!!!! Thank you for constantly inspiring me and for sharing your incredible journey!!!!!

Luv, Nee
