I have four raw restaurants in my area. I'm so happy I moved here... it's great to have somewhere I can eat YUMMY food when I don't have time to prepare stuff for myself... or I simply have the desire to pamper myself with a meal out.

Raw raw rawks!!!

Hi Aleesha,

I am new here, and I am going to do my best to succeed in the Sept. raw food challenge! I've been doing a low-carb diet for a while, and drinking green smoothies for breakfast for about 2 weeks (love them!), but I've never been on a vegetarian diet before, much less a raw one. So this will be a big change for me.

I'm crusing the web and the Forum, but any advice is welcome!

Count me in for September!

I need to find some more raw places to eat around me, I have only been to 2 and they are quite a bit of a drive. But WELL worth it.

Yes. I am in too! Just made 7 jars of smoothies (prep 4 H/ Irene) and I bought plums, cherries, blues, straws, watermelon, nectarines, and oranges. Hope I can hang with the big guys and gals. So not used to all raw diet yet. Let this be my month, oh universe. Thanks Aleesha for the challenge. Thanks to all of you for the support.

Peace, Bonnie (who loves blueberries)

I decided, I'm in! I think I'm starting tomorrow though - today I was/will be 75% or so. I just have to remind myself that I can make a raw version of almost anything I crave!

I'm starting today -- one day early because I am all geared up for it and excited.

After weights and spinning this morning I had a great green smoothie with chard, celery, sprouts, cantaloupe, strawberries, and a few Dulse flakes. Drank the rest of it for lunch and had a small spinach salad and some almonds.

So far so good...

Hello All: I'll be joining you for this lovely month. Started today:

B - 64 oz. green smoothie
S - Cherries (so good)
L - Big green salad with Raw Italian Dressing, Stuffed portabella mushroom
D - Falallel with Mango Chutney
S - Carrot Cake
Water

I converted another friend to Raw yesterday. I took her to lunch for her birthday and I pulled out a dressing to put over the salad. After dinner, I pulled out my raw carrot cake (I know, can't take me nowhere, tee hee), and let her taste it, and she was hooked!!!! She remarked the entire time about my weight loss and kept asking me, "what do you eat." I love BEING the change!!! I don't have a computer at home, so will peak in when I can get to the Library.

Happy September All!!!!

Is it okay if I join late?
I think this thread will give me some motivation to stay raw. I haven't been able so far to go for more than 9 days of 100% raw, I always give in.

I wanted to ask the people that have been doing this for a long time, do you ever stop having cravings? My mom brought some baked beans today and I just couldn't resist, so I had a huge plate and now I regret it.
I don't have a dehydrator either so sometimes I just get tired of just eating fruits and salads (even though I love fruit especially summer fruit:dance: and big green salads)
Any advice so I can make it to at least the end of the month?

It's great to have you Lucy and late is as late does. What is 5 days between friends!

The cravings come and go. As to getting bored of fruit and salad . . . did you not get bored of the food you ate before? I know when I ate SAD food I certainly did get bored and the result was cravings for things I didn't really want and that were never satisfied by eating the things I craved.

Sometimes just having a rational conversation with yourself can help. But always have lots of raw foods that you can snack on when you are hit by a craving for something that is off-program. Dates are good if you crave sweet things for example. Bananas are cheap and filling.

I don't have a dehydrator but I don't think one is necessary.

There is no late on this thread... you simply join in for thirty days from now! :D

Lots of green salads being consumed here... and green smoothies. They seem to be out staple at this time. Looooovin' this process.

Today is an all fruit day for me. I had cherries for breakfast and am having watermelon for lunch and cantaloupe for dinner. I want to get my hydration levels up! (it's been warm here)
