I'm turning 25 in less than two weeks, and decided it's time to get my life back on track. I have been a lifelong sufferer, at least the last 20 years, of severe migraines, which caused me to stop playing soccer and basically stop going outside from fear of a debilitating migraine. Due to the limitations, I gained weight fast and have never really felt healthy. Thirteen days ago I put my foot down and committed to being RAW.
I am a fulltime college student at Central Washington University, planning on going to medical school in a couple years. I don't have much of a support system around here for my new lifestyle.
My overall goal is to get healthy, and live life to it's fullest!

I am hoping to make some Raw friends, so let's talk
Also, I have been attempting to blog. If your interested it is http://neededchange.tumblr.com/

Welcome. You'll find a lot of support here. I found that it's very helpful to talk to people with experience or are going thru similar circumstances as I am. This forum has been a lifesaver when I've needed help most. You'll find motivation and a lot of useful knowledge from so many awesome people here! Welcome aboard... Cheers!

Hi Lairel,
Welcome to the group!
I am new here too, but it looks like there is a lot of support. You are about 3 steps ahead of me! I've been making green smoothies for a couple of weeks for breakfast, but haven't changed much else yet other than cutting out bread and pasta. I'm going to do the 30-day raw challenge starting Sept. 1.
I'm just gearing up for the challenge. I bought a few things today from a local health food store, but they didn't have all I wanted, so I will have to go down to the valley this weekend to do more shopping for the first week. Your post inspired me -- I will reorganize my kitchen this weekend too!
Good luck -- you have a great attitude!

Hello, and I totally feel ya regarding the headaches. I have a friend who would get really bad headaches and it didnt matter what she did, they always came back. My family started doing green shakes and she had decided she was going to start drinking them because she was getting married in a year and she wanted to lose weight. She worked at DQ and couldnt lay off the ice cream. :) She started drinking the shakes and not only did she lose weight, but her headaches went away.
For me I have been hit with MS in 2009, so I am starting this adventure because its really the only thing that makes since. (and i dont have the 3000 a month for the shots, that my doc wants me to take). I hope we can be a help and inspiration to each other on the start of this new journy.... :woot:
