Well... without much prior thought, I've changed over to Raw Vegan eating marking today as the first day.

Having weightlifted for a number of years, I still eat according to a plan and count calories. I'm basically eating a certain amount of fruits and fats (nuts & oils) each day to hit a specific calorie target, and vegetables and seeds can come along for the ride and not be counted... (who wants to count all the bean sprouts, and lettuce?)

Sound like a good plan? The only worry I have is losing the muscle I've built over the last 6 years.... however, in the end, I just want to feel healthy, end my digestive upsets and just be lean and mean!! :D :D

Thoughts and advice?

ps: I already have made nori rolls and an Avocado soup by Ani phyo and have to say I was impressed with the soup.

Sounds good to me. Consider this though ~ what it's possible you're losing is the fat between the muscles, not the muscles themselves ~ which makes it seem that the muscles are getting smaller. The space between them is.

Yeah, I always check my bodyfat VS total weight every couple of weeks, so I can see exactly what I'm losing, so I'll keep an eye on that.... Its just that meat eating mentality that gets drummed into you when you start lifting weights... EVERYONE says you HAVE TO eat meat or protein or else you won't build muscles etc....

but thats all behind me now

I have thoroughly enjoyed my first day of being a Raw Vegan :D :D Not having so much clean up after preparing food is such a blessing!!

I can't wait to start telling people now, haha!! :D

Yes, they do. When I first was lifting I was doing the usual. We'd train then go out and eat animal products. I had a lot of muscle but you couldn't see it under all the bulk. When I went vegetarian, I easily eliminated all the excess and gained pure muscle. My partner at the time was walking behind me and noted how good my back was looking. He said "Imagine how you'd look if you ate animal protein." My answer was... "Been there, done that. I know how I'd look because I did it. NO ONE asked me to partner with them then as they do now. NO ONE complimented me on how great I was looking." So, go for raw; go for health. Good on ya!
