So there's probably a couple of threads around similar to this but I just wanted to ask,

- did you notice any weight loss when you started eating raw?
- if so, was it quick or slow, and how much did you lose?
- were you overweight before?
- what kinds of foods were you eating?

I don't tend to weigh myself so I'm not sure if I've lost weight but everyone has been telling me that I have but I think it's a bit too early to tell just yet. I'm not overweight but want to slim down maybe 5 pounds. Do you think this will happen by itself or will I have to try? I'm exercising a bit too. Thanks everyone! :)

For me I actually gained 2 pounds but lost them again shortly after, then about 3 months in I had gotten sick and lost 5 - 7 pounds but gained gem once I started eating normal again (boo :( ) and now I'm pretty much the same as I started... But I don't exercise nearly like I should and I'm not overweight but I would like to drop about 5 pounds too. Lots of people on here say how quick and easy their weightloss was but for me its not been like that, but I'm doing it for my health more than weight loss... Oh and I think in winter when I'm not eating fruit like crazy I'll probably lose a few pounds... Maybe haha

I am an on again, off again raw foodist. When I'm on at 99+% I drop a quite a bit of weight quickly and then slow to a steady 1-2-3 lb. a week. I also am about 45 lbs from where I "should" be according to the charts ;( and probably 25 from where I'd be really happy. I'm on again now...

Many who reply to this topic say your body will find it's own best weight and may need to do some cleansing/healing before the weight loss starts. At any rate, measurements usually change with this WOL as well. Starting an exercise program with the start of a new food program sometimes makes you think you aren't losing as muscle weighs more than fat and you may well be building muscle.

I started eating a 95% raw food diet about 3 months ago. I don't get on the scale much because it wigs me out but I've got quite a bit of weight to lose. A couple of weeks ago I did get on the scale and I was about 30 pounds down from where I was when I started. So that's about 10 pounds a month, 2.5/week on average. I have a sense that I lose it in what I call 'dumps'. Like I stay the same for a while and then my body just dumps a lot of old junk in one day and I feel lighter/smaller after that. I don't pay attention to the quantities of food I'm eating or how much fat or protein or whatnot, at least not yet. Unless I plateau at a point where I really want to continue losing, I'm really just enjoying being able to eat whatever I want as long as its raw.

The first time I went raw, I lost 60lbs in 6 months.

This time around, I've been raw 4 days and have lost 4.8lbs already.

I also lose weight steadily on raw.
