Just joined the community because I'm interested in juicing for 7-10 every other month or so, and I had a few questions.

After watching Fat, Sick & Nearly Dead, and doing some research it's pretty obvious weight loss is a great side effect from juicing. The thing is I'm 5'9" at 130 and I'm currently working to put on some more muscle and weight. Obviously I'm concerned about losing weight and was wondering what others have done to avoid or minimize this.

I noticed one post about using avocados as a good source of extra calories/fat through raw food, but I haven't seen any posts specific to weight training. I'd like to eventually move more and more towards a raw food diet, but I plan on doing it in stages so that I can measure how it's affecting my performance in cycling, climbing and weight training, then make necessary adjustments.

Thanks for the help!

I think you need to decide what it is your goal is for juicing. Is it to detox? I know people use small amounts of avocado and banana to slow that down during a juice fast. If you just want the extra nutrition perhaps you could just add that in to what you are already doing. Have you read Brendan Brazier's book The Thrive Diet? He is a triathlete and that might answer a lot of your questions. Wishing you the best~
