Hey all,
Today is my 6th day on the Raw Food Diet, so far so good as in haven't had any slip ups. However I love potato chips and am craving them so bad. Last night I went to bed at 7:30 so wouldn't go to the local shop to buy a big packet or throw some fries in the oven. That and also since starting the diet I have been really tired at night.
Also I got my dehydrator a couple of days ago and have had a little play around with making corn chips, but well they just didn't taste all that flash same with the vegie burgers I attempted (YUK), I think I've decided to just stick with whole foods and leave the gourmet stuff to the professional using the dehydrating for fruits only.
Anyway if anyone has some advice/tips on supressing these cravings it would be muchly appreciated as I don't know how much longer I can ignore them.
Thanks in advance....

Hello Tamai!
I also had a horrible craving for potato chips. I made kale chips and it satisfied the craving! I sprinkled Bragg's Liquid Aminos and sea salt on mine then dehydrated until crispy. The whole family loves my kale chips!
Good Luck!

I agree, kale chips are really satisfying! I mix mine with lemon and salt and whatever spices I am in the mood for and dehydrate until crunchy. You could also flavor some nuts and dehydrate.. I love curried cashews, yum! If you're craving the salt you'd normally get in a potato chip, something like salted pumpkin seeds might do the trick.

there are some great recipes out there for flax crackers and they turn out really crunchy like chips! I'm sure if you dusted them with some salt they'd taste similar to chips, especially if you make up some raw dips to go with them :)
Hope that helps! I'm also fighting the craving demons too! I love salted roasted cashews and there's a HUGE packet in my kitchen!!! :(

If you are craving things like potato chips - youre not eating enough calories and carbs. Go to www.cronometer.com and start tracking your food intake for a while to see that youre getting enough calories. When we undereat we gravitate towards things that are filled with the calories and carbs our body is needing - such as potato chips, fries, rice dishes, bread, etc. :)

According to the experts at HHI, when a person experiences craving for these types of foods it indicates a blood sugar disorder. Try takling 4 or 5 tablets of Chlorella when the cravings start and see what happens. The high quality protien will regulate the blood sugar and the cravings usually go away.

HHI have used Chlorella for over 20 years and have used it on thousands of patients, so they KNOW it works. Be careful what chlorella you get because many don't absorb very well. The best one to get is this one here:
http://secure.hippocratesinst.org/admin/details/19/14/supplements/lifegive-supplements/chlorella-1500-tabs
lt's the only stuff in the world which has the specially patented `dyno mill method' for properly breaking down the chlorella cell wall without significant nutrient loss. lt's good stuff. Even buy 2 bottles (to cut down on long term postage) and keep it for when you need it.
HHI should be giving me commissions for all the stuff l sell for them LOL. * wink* Nah, l just want people to be healthy and make life as good as possible for everyone. l can't speak highly enough of Chlorella, l suppose l do sound like a broken record on many many occasions, but so be it, a broken record l shall be. * wink*

Thanks, I've never been a big eater so am finding it hard to eat all the time as I've always just been a breakfast lunch and tea person so I know I'm needing to eat more. Anyway last night I gave in to my cravings (annoyed at myself) and felt sick afterwards and even a little this morning. So today is a new day and the next time I get the cravings I'll just remember how sick I felt lastnight/this morning and just get on with the program.
Oh and thanks Mr Raw will watch this tonight.
