Hi,
I'm Liz and I'm from Austin, TX (from CA originally). My husband and I were inspired to try juicing after watching the infamous Fat, Sick, and Nearly Dead documentary. We haven't started yet but we will be starting this week.

I have Hashimoto's Thyroiditis disease. I weigh 200 lbs. (I'm 5'3"). I am extremely iron anemic. I'm depressed (although I'm a happy person) and just sick of feeling this way. My thyroid is "under control" but I still feel the effects of my disease daily. I am determined to get better! Enough is enough.

I look forward to meeting people here who have healed themselves by eating raw (or juicing).

I've also seen Fat, Sick, and Nearly Dead. I found the layers of denial in the persons portrayed in the movie whose lifestyles were ruining their health particularly poignant. The movie really revealed the the way some people seem to think it is silly or weak to pursue good health instead of eating e.g. cheeseburgers and chili fries. The fact that it never mentioned this explicitly but just showed it made it that much more moving.

Hi Liz!

My name is Kim. I have been almost 100% raw for 5 weeks now. I allow myself condiments that are not raw. I have had hypertension for 5 years now. I have over the past 3 weeks I have been able to cut my medicine down to 2 pills a week. If I take them every day my blood pressure tanks. I have been on medication for 5 years and my blood pressure has NEVER been controlled to normal like it is now. I feel healthier than I ever have before and feel that I am on my way to healing.

All the best to you on your journey to be healthier.

Kim
