Im confused buy the Heavy metals and Arsenic, I know 5 ppm isnt that huge. But just seeing that is making me wonder? Anyone have any ideas, Whats the word on this? Im trying to get the Chlorella Ponderysoa, Not vulgaris which I usually bough from a good clean company? Just a little confused. Rawsteins help me out.
It is my understanding, that Arsenic and heavy metals occur naturally in some things. The lead and the arsenic are very small as noted on your list. Lead is cumulative. I'm not sure about the heavy metals. Looking at that list, makes me wonder though why people think this is so good for you.
LIVING plants absorb minerals/metals from their growing environment.
Living animals and humans absorb minerals/metals from their environment, too, albeit in different ways.
Thus, chlorella and spirulina will contain heavy metals if heavy metals are present in their growing environment. No surprises; absolutely to be expected, but not something the algae growing industry likes to admit to customers.
...Looking at that list, makes me wonder though why people think this is so good for you.
Because they've been hoodwinked by persistent advertising ;-)
(not least on the chelation side of things, for which these dead algaes are completely inappropriate, containing, as they do, high levels of cystine; rich in thiols).

When i did a detox this January, it was part of the program to have spirulina. I swear i couldn't have enough of that and i was craving for this so much. I trust my body wanted that. I bought the Hawaian one. As for chlorella, i also adore it. It is rich in B12 and i like the effect of it.
Now that you raise this question with Heavy Metal, this does make me question about that too. Dr. Morse isn't into those supplement either but i cannot denial the craving i had for it. Chlorella has the property to detox mercury.
Anyway, my say is to research and at the end, do what feel right to you. If you don't resonate with those products then don't take them.
All the best

No hoodinking going on, clinical trials using thousands of people has been done. Water based foods have positive characteristics that lands foods don't have, that's why in conjunction with a raw land food diet they can improve your health even further. l can talk further about this if you want me too.

Yes, both are very good. Clinical trials at Hippocrates (old research before AFA was even discovered) show that Chlorella had the best results on overall health recovery and Spiralina came a close second.

l read about this issue a long time ago, but l don't think it is such an issue with the chlorella or even with kelp as is commonly believed. Hopefully l can find the explanation and write it here another day if l remember. But also....chlorella is grown in man made ponds, so if the water is regularly checked then l am sure contamination could be kept to the lowest level possible.

The biggest drawback to non toxic algae is the extremely high phosphorous - calcium ratio of these high protein algaes. Grains are bad enough with a rough ratio of 1 - 20, the notorious flesh foods can be 1 - 200, but algae is roughly 1 - 2,000. Eventhough a small bit of algae alkalises the system and keeps alkaline minerals from being lost from the body, too much algae can have the opposite effect and strip the bones. lf you are having alot of Chlorella, spiralina or AFA it is best to be consuming various sprouted seeds such as sesame, chia or poppy or have certain vegies such as brocolli and afew others with a good calcium - phosphorous ratio, but the best bet would be the semi concentrated sprouted seeds l mentioned [l feel].
Using Chlorella and AFA are fantastic because they top up vegan diets with much needed:
* zinc
* vitamin A
* vitamin B12
(many vegans are deficient in these things)
This is a big boost for us folks. Other amazing reasons to be using this stuff are:
* the extremely high levels of nucleic acids (in chlorella especially, but also in AFA and spiralina)
* the detox of heavy metals in chlorella
* the mind enhancing of the AFA.
Even the best most nutritous diets benefit from including these algae. l believe using Chlorella is indespensible in a big city.

So what brands or where do you buy your Chlorella and Spirulina, that are free of metals?

l buy the best chlorella on the market that many people have safely used over many years, the Sun Chlorella A. lf you want rebranded Sun Chlorella A for less than half price then buy it from Hippocrates Health Institute (lifegive). HHI only use the best stuff. The chlorella is the best because it is the most absorbable with the most nutrients in tact by a worldclass patented process using the `dyno mill' method, not other chlorella is in this class. Many companies claim to crack their chlorella but it is still not good enough in my experience ie, it can go through you or if you vomit 5 hours later and here's the chlorella still in tact. Use the good stuff and don't mess around.

l am not sure about Spiralina because l haven't researched it near as much. Many people talk about this product that is avoilable in many health fopod shops:
http://www.naturalhealthorganics.com.au/Hawaiian-Pacifica-Spirulina-Powder-pr-2382.html
Then you get people saying you should avoid organic algae because it gets sprayed, then you get people like Dr Macola that say you should buy organic.
l say to buy the mainstream ones with a good reputaTION that people have been using for years, so the above.

"<" Denotes less than.
Analysis tests have detection limits. If the concentration of an analyte in a sample is below the detection limit of the test used, it is appropriate to use the syntax "<[detection limit]" to report the result.
0.00001ppm, 1ppm, 0.2 ppm, and 4 ppm would all be below the detection limit of 5 ppm and reported as "<5ppm"

Has anyone had any experience with Source Naturals Chlorella from Yaeyama Powder? I can't find many testimonials about this stuff and the above poster said Sun Chlorella is good, but it only has 1 review on Amazon and it's wasn't great. Anyone know what the best Chlorella is? Thanks :)

The best by far is Sun Chlorella A or the repackages HHI chlorella. Forget the review on amazon, they do not know what they say. l have used various chlorella and nothing compares to Sun Chlorella.
l also use the spirulina (haiiwan pacifica). lt is good but not as effective as the chlorella. Doesn't break down as well from my experiments.
lf you really want to fire up, try these:
* AFA blue green algae
* Spirulina blue green algae
* Chlorella green algae
* Kelp brown algae
* Dulse red algae
* Nori green algae
* Arame black algae
lf you eat/drink these, have weeds, grass and sprouts...you will shoot to the moon and feel beyond the best ever. l feel like a machine now and l have the best day ever every single day. l walk on the clouds everyday. lt's all good stuff!!!
