Hello!
I’ve been moving towards raw from vegan since the beginning of June, and now I’m about 98% raw.
I’m hoping to lose about 30lbs during my journey towards better health! Unfortunately, no weight has come off in the last several weeks...
I am active, I walk almost every day, do yoga at home, and have found my way back to the gym for spinning, kickboxing, zumba, and other classes. I also do pilates reformer twice per week.
A typical day?
Breakfast (spread out throughout the morning): 1 apple, 1 banana, 1 large bundle of grapes
Lunch: Salad, or more fruit, or a raw veggie creating from my neighborhood raw lunch takeaway place
Dinner: Salad, or veggies, or banana ice cream, or fruit.
If I track my calories, it’s very high. I keep reading “Don’t Track Calories!” but that doesn’t seem realistic. It can be well into the 2,000.
So my question is this,
What can I do to improve weight loss?
Do you count calories?
Am I eating too much fruit?
Not enough fat?
Just wait it out?

Not enough fat?
I see no avos, no nuts, no seeds, no olives, no coconut oil. At the very least, you're not metabolizing fat soluble vitamins.

Yikes! What is that, 200 calories a day? You're in starvation mode, buddy.

There is enough fat in regular fruit and vegetables/greens to be healthy. One doesnt need to consume avocados, seeds/nuts, etc to get fats.

Vitamin E is a bit tricky from just fruits and veg ...

You do if you want to eliminate weight AND metabolize fat soluble vitamins.

Mango, kiwi, papaya, nectarine, raspberries, blueberries, guava, peach, blackberries, etc have vitamin E. :) And I know swiss chard also has it.

I have only checked out blueberries and they fall very short in vitamin E content. You'd have to eat a huge amount to get much vit E
I don't count calories...generally. Sometimes I plug them into to see what I am doing. When I am not cheating, I drop weight every day I eat raw accept when I pull 12 hour night shifts. I eat lots of fruit. Sometimes, just fruit. Lots of bananas. I try to eat a head of lettuce every day. Not iceberg.
You didn't actually mention what you weigh...
Are you losing inches?

Right now I weight (uh oh) 178lbs. I'm also 5'10. My best looking weight was around 155 or below. So I'm aiming for about 30lbs of weight loss.
I've been jumping around 178 since the beginning of June or beyond. No movement. I've increased exercise, I've cleaned up my diet. Cut out all animal products and dairy products in the last couple months. (I was a vegan for most of my life, then started eating meat and dairy, then did HCG *terrible idea* and after a short mental breakdown *thanks HCG* I found my way all the way back to square one... vegan).
My body has kind of been through a lot in the last year, which is why I decided to take veganism to the raw level and heal everything. Heal my mind, my spirit, AND my body. (Thank you, yoga!)
But, no, nothing moving on the scale. My clothes don't fit different either. My skin looks great, though! Haha!
One would think after two months of becoming vegan and finally to 98% raw pounds would move. It makes me a little discouraged, or at the very least confused?
I have to also say I've had some digestion issues through this as well. Improving, finally.
Like I said before, calories can get really high eating this way because of all the fruit. Am I just eating too much?? What am I doing wrong. Not enough veggies? Not enough good fats???

What I said.

You are not eating too much fruit. What you spread throughout the morning, I eat in one sitting...more in fact.
This morning I had 1/3 of pineapple, I usually eat at least half but that was all I had. I also ate 1 orange, 1 peach, 3 or 4 bananas. All that in about 30 miuntes. Within 2 hours, I was eating something else. In fact, I've been eating all day long.
When I work 12 hour shifts, I sleep about 6 hours, I only get in one good meal and a few pieces of fruit. I find I either don't lose, or I actually gain up to a pound a day. I used to worry but now I know it just happens on work days.
When I am not working, I lose a little weight every single day up to 1.5 pounds. I never 'exercise'. I plan to start eventually. I weigh 201. My top weight was 244.
