View Full Version : Why oh Why oh Why?
I love watermelon. I can eat it all day long and nothing else. Other than bananas, it is my favorite thing. I have fibromyalgia. To my delight, I found out I had much less pain if I eat raw food or even careful vegan....but not when I eat watermelon.
The first time it happened, I had been raw for several weeks and was feeling great. I bought a huge watermelon at the store and decided to have a 'watermelon day.' I ate probably 1/3 of the watermelon for dinner. About 20 minutes later realized I was feeling bad, then worse, then grabbing my shoulder (old injury, now chronic pain spot) The only thing I had eaten was watermelon.
It took me a couple of days to get over it. Waited a while, tried another, less this time, same thing.
This is not an allergy, this is like a systemic pain response.
Is the watermelon in some family of fruits that can cause inflammatory reactions in some people? I have no issues with tomatoes. Of course, I don't eat 10 pounds at a sitting either.

Was it seedless or seeded? Seedless from what I was told uses rat DNA to make them into seedless. So maybe you are reacting to that?
Wow! Rat DNA!? Where can I find information on this? Pretty sure it was seedless. Rat DNA?! Who would have thought of that?

I shouldn't worry about rat DNA. I posted a link about seedless watermelons but the pain is interesting and so unfair when you like watermelon.
I'll try to find that link ...brb

t (http://edis.ifas.ufl.edu/cv006)his isn't the link I posted before but as you can see, seedless watermelons are not genetically modified, they are selectively hybridised which is totally different. The other link was good in that it mentioned other fruits and the vegetative method of plant production - essentially taking cuttings of the seedless plant. If I can find it I will post that too.

Not all pain is bad. Sometimes, in natural healing, things will feel worse before they feel better. If I were you, I'd give it a few more times... maybe not eat as much... see what happens. Something like watermelon is very healing. I'd also try some muscle testing and EFT.
Revvell,
I never thought of healing. All the areas that hurt are old injuries...fractures, torn muscles. I usually get a low grade temperature and end up sick in bed.
I will be buying a watermelon tomorrow. My plan is to eat it on my off days. Just small amounts like Revvell suggested. See how things go.

Water melon is highly recommend to get your lymph unclogged as per dr. Morse. And guess what, fibromyalgia according to him is due to your lymph fluid not being able to do its job (it is clogged). You are in tune with your body, continue to do this if this is what your body wants.
All is well.

I was in the grocery store today and some guy came by with his young son pointing out "this is a mushroom" "this is celery" and the son was repeating what he said, then the guy said "But don't eat any of them there bad for you, these people don't know but they are all GMO's" I was sooooo annoyed!! I mean come on! If you are going to spout off statement like that in public to your kid at least make sure you have your info right. I just get so aggravated at people like that.
Okay, I'm off my soap box now...thanks

it might not have been a GMO thing even. A lot of blokes think it's funny to teach kids things like this ... and swearing; how funny is it that a child's first words would be bleeped if they were on national tv!

Let me tell you, the muscle pains and aches come fast and deadly. Not like allergies with itching. The lymph relationship with Fibromyalgia and watermelon is interesting.

I am just reading that there might be a connection between sugar consumption and fibromyalgia. Since a watermelon is fairly high in sugars, and you're eating a lot of it without other problems, do you normally tend to have low blood sugar even after consuming carbs? You may have a problem metabolizing carbs, that causes carb craving (which would explain why you love watermelons and bananas, both being fruits that are fairly high in carbs).
When you eat carbs, insulin starts to be produced, and excess insulin production encourages carbs to be stored as fatty acids within cells, rather than be used for energy. Blood sugar imbalances usually cause fibromyalgia symptoms to worsen, so thats always a possibility in your case. When do you normally tend to experience fibromyalgia?

Dr. Morse video are so interesting and he keeps it so simple. What he explains in general is that your cell goes to the bathroom too everyday and your lymph fluid will collect their waist to eliminate it in a separate waste system. If our lymph fluid is plug or congestion or our adrenal or kidney, our tissues will be left with the acid. Fibromyalgia is a sign of lymph not being able to do its job and kidney(filter). Skin problem is also as sign. According to him the body is simple, it is a bunch of cells with two main fluids that control the health of the cell (blood and lymph).
