View Full Version : New to raw - having chronic hiccups?

Hi,
I am on day 6 of my 100% raw convert from being a vegetarian (I called myself a pudding vegetarian because although I ate no meat, I still ate a lot of junk) and so far I have been marching along pretty well, I felt crummy and had headaches for the first 2 days or so but since then I have felt good with a fair amount of energy.

The ONE problem I am having, and it started out of the blue on day 3, is uncontrollable, chronic hiccups. I rarely get hiccups, hardly ever. But starting on day 3, and every day since then, I have been getting the hiccups 1-3 times a day, and here on day 6 they are getting extremely annoying. Does anyone know what might be causing this, or any particular fruit or vegetable I could be eating that could be triggering them? I have them right now as I am typing, it is what prompted me to register on this site to ask for some input.

Thanks and a healthy day to all!

I get hiccoughs when I swallow without chewing properly. Particularly things like apple or other dense foods. I would suggest eating more slowly or even try juicing for a few days and see if that helps.
