I'm allergic to walnuts unless they are dehydrated. I've been finding so many delicious recipes that call for them. What can I use as a substitution?

I don't know about substitutions, but why don't you just soak the walnuts to release the enzyme inhibitors and then dehydrate to have some walnuts on hand for your recipes?

Pecans are usually a good substitute for walnuts because they both are oily nuts.

Thanks Lani. I think that will do the trick.

Thanks. I have been using pecans, but they are not the same as the walnuts.
