View Full Version : starting raw mid pregnancy?

I did raw for 4 months, lost 60 lbs total a year ago. my hair started falling out and i was getting patches of weird itchy skin in random places on my body. went to the dermatologist, he told me i was losing weight too fast, that i need to lose 2 lbs a MONTH. yeah.. right.... so that was about all it tookto make megive up raw :( I miss it so much. I feel terrible, I've gained most of my weight back etc.

I am 24 weeks pregnant. I was super stoked to start raw, spenT ton of money on all the foods necessary and made it to a little past lucnh where I caved and ate 2 cheese sandwiches. SO HUNGRY. I dont remember being that hungry last time, but mabye I was and I was just so gung ho that I didn't care??? I dunno.. I wish I had kept the foodjournal from that time so I know what I was eating.

anyway- who has experience starting raw mid pregnancy? I need to feel great.. I NEED to not have a butt with its own zipcode.

I had 6 kids. Never did raw on any pregnancy. However, I was always STARVING when I was pregnant. I really think being pregnant triggers hunger. I say keep eating raw as much as possible. Maybe more frequent meals. Don't beat yourself up, maybe you needed the calcium in the cheese. I remember my mother ate a ton of black olives during her pregnancy with my brother. Sorry not so helpful.

this is also my 6th ;) and I AM so hungry. i don't know if i can actually afford to eat an all raw diet, honestly, as hungry as I am. I don't want to say anything i can't on the board though.

I was preggo, but just miscarried at 4 months( my miscarriage was not RAW related, I want to stress that point). I was eating high raw, but struggling with it. To help I made a huge batch of green smoothies with hemp seeds and drank that through out the day. I made raw food bars and had those for snacks, and I loved pears and apples sliced with raw almond butter. The trick is to eat 5-6 times day so your not starving and to make sure you have plenty of pre-made stuff, so you don't cave to eat bad stuff when your starving. I always kept hemp milk, almond milk, raw food bars, a jar of raw alomond butter, flax crackers, onion bread, and some raw brownies to keep me happy. ;)

how do I make the raw food bars??? and raw brownies?? I need to know!

I'm craving peaches like crrazy! i must. get. some. nao!
