A predawn thru sunset daily fast
beginning August 1st until the next new moon

RAMADAN will serve as a time of awakening for some renewal for others.
Learning what it means to be hungry increasing our compassion for the poor.
Acknowledging our dependence upon food/ water, and the brevity of "life"
while gaining clarity of mind and focusing on the
DIVINE CREATOR

A tremendously holistic approach for inner reflection, spiritual devotion, gleaning, deepening, renewing, redefining of goals and self-control.
Fasting is also beneficial for health and provides a break
in the cycle of rigid habits or overindulgence.

Your digestive system will receives substantial rest
and for me the the psycho/spiritual/emotional attunement
during this time has been like no other!
Talking about finding out what your really made of...

Please comment if you will be joining us in the fast this RAMADAN...
I'll return with additional information and support for your journey.

It's so great to see this thread here - I thought I'd be the only RFT-er fasting for Ramadan! It is by far my favourite time of year :D

Ramadan Kareem!
Sorry to have negelected this thread.

My fasting has been superb and I am having a psotitively intense time with my personal spiritual developement.

On th physical side of things I feel pretty good, balanced and suprinsingly well nourished despite the long dates without food or water. I've had a few cranky moments around 3 in the afternoon and by 6:30 or so I am definately ready to eat (irritability) but nothing that I could call extreme hunger. Every year I am still amazed by how often I would be simply emotionally eating if I chose to do so instead of fasting. The wrost is probably the desire to eat whiile driving just do to the sheer tension that driving creates for me...typically undetected yet very palpable sort of feeling while fasting.

Alissa is so right when she says "it's all about the food and yet it's not"... the not is so so much more than we oftern realize.

Happy Fasting to you all! Remember to stay hydrated and keep a beautiful variety of RAWesome goodness on rotation.

Peace and Blessing
