I had bought a huge bag of non organic turmeric for like $2 at the grocery store years ago and finally ran out yesterday. This time I wanted to get organic turmeric and wanted a large quantity as I use it quite a bit.

I found a $16 half pound metal tin pf organic turmeric and I just opened it and inside the powder is in a bag, but the outside of the bag and inside of the thin are covered in this yellow resin/glue like stuff. This is a natural oil or resin that oozes out of turmeric powder or did the factory accidentally shoot glue into the tin?

Should I return it or is this normal?

Thanks

I searched online and read that turmeric root contains a lot of resin so I assume it's normal and a sign of freshness. In fact this turmeric powder smells like fresh raw turmeric root and the non organic turmeric didn't smell fresh like that.
