Generally, I don't have time in the mornings to make a smoothie, and I think my boyfriend would kill me if I woke him up with the VitaMix at 6 in the morning. Are smoothies and green smoothies something you can make the night before and stick in the fridge? Or maybe stick in the freezer and then just thaw in the morning???

You have time the night before to make a smoothie, but you don't have time in the morning??? That doesn't make sense to me. lf you have time at night, why not use that time to go to bed earlier and then make it in the morning? See what l am getting at? l don't mean to be rude but l feel you are full of excuses. ls it possible to blend outside in the mornings?
P.S: l am not trying to be smart here, l am only trying to help you overcome excuses. l could make heaps of excuses (especially since l sprout all my foods), but that is not going to help me get the best results. l get up 2 - 3 hours before work, l blend outside sometimes etc. lf l am busy l will work all night if neccessary. l do what needs to be done.
Making smoothies in advance are never a good idea.

All I needed was the answer, not the judgement. I get up at 5, I work out until 6, I take a shower, get my food together and get dressed and have to leave by 6:35. I work from 6:45-4:45. I get home, spend an hour to an hour and half cutting fruit and veggies and making a salad for the next day, then I make dinner, and I'm in bed by 10. I would hate to wake my boyfriend up at 5 in the morning, and we have no outlets outside.

I have sometimes had left over green smoothies the next morning and they are fine - the only thing would be bananas may turn but in a smoothie I think it would be fine. Give it a go - I know what you mean about time in the morning it flies buy - I get up at 6, either exercise, yoga and walk dogs and then sat at computer for 9ish (very lucky I work at home)
Good luck x

Thank you! I wonder if freezing and then drinking as it thaws might keep the banana from turning that funky color? I guess I won't know unless I try!

can you make the smoothie at work in your break? I'm lucky where I work in that we have a reasonable staff kitchen and have a locker where I could keep a blender if I wanted to.

Unfortunately, we only have two small refrigerators, and no places to keep our things. And, also, unfortunately, I'm pretty much only allowed to be away from my desk for about 5 minutes at a time. :-/

I have made too much green smoothie before and put it into mason jars with lids in the refirdg and then drank them later that day. For me personally the pre-made smoothies made me feel a bit ill. Not sure why. Plenty of other people on this forum have made pre-made smoothies and had no ill effects. I guess the only way to know is to try it and see how they make you feel.

Tell your boyfriend you're sorry if the blender wakes him up but you need to eat.

The reason they go bad is that they oxidize... If you keep it in an air tight glass bottle and fit it right to the top and refrigerate it will minimize how bad it will go overnight. I think some ingredients will keep better than others, so maybe try adding a lemon to your smoothies? It is a good preserver. Hope that helps!
