Hi everyone,

I am about to go raw AGAIN. I tried earlier this month but I am in a country that just has food issues. LOL

It was VERY hard to find fruits and veggies that I liked all the time. They would have them one day then POW they were gone. Then I could not find them for a week or two after that. I just figured I would wait becasue I was moving to another country and I know finding tons of fruits nd veggies would be no problem at all.

I will be in my new home the begining of next week. I want to start off prepared. What are the must have kitchen gadgets a person need to go raw and be able to fix a variety of food. I have teens ande tween that are also going raw or high raw with me so I need to be able to fix things tht will keep them interested.

I am going to go on a smoothie/juice fast for 30 days but my children will need to eat meals.

Please when you list things dont think oh she will know about this. I KNOW NOTHING. Things as simple as what I need to peel things with I want to know the names of it, no not a knife, I know that word, LOL but anything that is made just for song something....
I ordered a book from this site but it will take a while for me to get it because I am overseas. Im sure there is tons of info in there but I want to get started before the book even arrives.

I know i need a juicer, blended but what else and what brands should I look for? I keep seeing Vita mix but I was wondering if there were any other brand just as good or better just in case I cant find that brand here.

Thanks in Advance

I definitely recommend a Vitamix and a good food processor. I know it's a bit lazy, but I love my cherry pitter, I can use it on cherries and olives. My apple corer is used daily because I put chopped apples in my salad. A lot of people use spiralizers to make veggie pastas, so you might want to look into that. Nut milk bags if you want to make nut or seed milks. Another expensive item, but one I am 100% glad I purchased is my dehydrator. It comes in SO handy! It lets me dehydrate fruits that are about to go bad, but that I haven't had time to use up yet. A vegetable peeler can sometimes also be used to make veggie type noodles. A mandolin can come in handy, but for me, it's been such a hassle to clean, that I just use a knife (although I am thinking about getting a salad shooter just because it looks fun).
A salad spinner can be used to get moisture off of greens, and even berries, which will keep them fresher longer.
I'll try to see if there is anything else I can think of.

I love it; you'll definitely want one of these. I recently got a corn zipper and I haven't had a chance to use it yet, but I bet it's a lot better than a knife.
A lot of people use spiralizers to make veggie pastas, so you might want to look into that. I couldn't agree more. Your kids are going to want 'spaghetti' type stuff and the spiralizer is perfect for this. It's realitively cheap too. I think I paid $20 for mine.
Also, consider buying a zester. I think they are also called microplanes; I'm not sure. All I know is if you need to zest lemons, limes or oranges you can't do it effectively without one of these.
Another thing I was thinking of...all of these gadgets (if they require electricity to run) are probably going to be 120V instead of 220V. You may want to invest in a transformer.

Thanks for everything. I am making a list and will buy them next week after I move. Im also looking for somethings here btu so far no luck. all the plugs here are 220v. I am going to buy everything here so I wont need an adaptor. My problem is going to be finding everything. I have seen many cheap blender and juicers but no vita mix or any thing close to it. I may have to buy it online from the UK, as they use the same plugs as they do here.

I am sure my kids will want things that look like pasta. I will be sure to buy all the little gadgets you both mentioned......thanks again!!!
