I often have a little tiny bit of carrot or little bits of cabbage or something that just wont blend. Does anyone have any special tips on blending I have not thought of?

Usually I will stick in veg and or fruit along with some water and blend for a good 3 or 4 minutes on the highest setting.

Try blending the vegetables/leafy greens first, then add in fruit once well blended.

what kind of blender do you have? we used to have a sort of cruddy one, then we got a slightly better one which has a very strong motor, and we're planning to buy a vitamix very soon which is even more incredible at pulverizing every bit. I think motor power is the key with getting everything ground up.

Try chopping them a bit first either with a knife or chopper/food processor.

Get a Vita-Mix.

Always pack the blender with the lightest foods and end with the heaviest. Eg:

1st = alfalfa sprouts
2nd = pea shoot sprouts
3rd = lentil sprouts
4th = barley sprouts

lf you use nuts it is good to chomp them up and always pack last in the blender.

l would be doing it the other way around Steve. l used to do things like that (harder foods first) but l find it best to do it the wat Vitamix recommends. ie,pack light foods first and follow with heavier stuff/.
