Does anyone here deal with anemia? I've read that the iron in lefy greens isnt absorbed due to the calcium content. Although I consume a LOT of greens, I'm wondering if maybe I should supplement with iron. I have some of the telltale signs of anemia.
Any advice/opinions are appreciated.

Are you consuming the greens in something like a green smoothie?

Anemia is not just about the iron. It's also about pH balance... when we are acidic (from stress, food, or whatever less-than-ideal environment for our bodies) that can make a big difference too.

I was anemic before going raw, which was sad for me b/c I wanted to give blood. I stopped having any of the symptoms after going raw. I gave blood just last year for the first time since going raw, and I was happy to see that my iron levels were WAY healthy. And then it was literally like I never was there! I had NO need for recovery time and was not even a little weak after giving blood.

Go raw! :)

I'm anemic and I have to supplement. My low iron levels aren't so much due to the lack of iron, but more due to my lack of absorbing it.

I used to have anemic symptoms for the longest time, even when I ate lots of leafy greens. It wasnt until I started eating over 3,000 calories a day that it finally went away.

I wish I had that metabolism! If I did that, I'd be back at 300 lbs!!! LOL

It can also be a problem with B12, not iron. Are you receiving enough B12? Maybe try taking B12 sublinguals?
