Hey! Has anyone here ever heard of or tried something called "Nia"? I read about it in a free magazine I picked up in the organic section of ShopRite. It sounds like a lot of fun, and pretty low-impact (I'm young, but my knees are not).

I think it's a combination of dance and yoga. It's offered in Cleveland but I honestly thought it was just something one person did here locally. Interesting.

Cool!! Sounds like something I would definitely be interested in doing.
The website is http://www.nia-nia.com if anyone wanted to check it out. They even have books and videos; very cool.

NIA (neuromuscular integrative action) was created by Carlos and Debbie Rosas. I crossed paths with them many times at fitness industry events here in Portland. Debbie and Carlos are very nice people, extremely passionate about life. I highly recommend the classes if you are fortunate enough to be able to attend. The classes I have participated in, and observed are very "soulful."
