I am currently living a raw lifestyle, yet I am afraid that I am not obtaining all the nutrients that I need.

Before I give you my diet understand that I suffer from Anosmia (inability to smell) and therefore I can only taste sweet, salty, spicy, sour, acid and bitter. That gives me the super power to eat the same thing every day ;)

So, this is what is what I eat on days that I do not fast:

6 am Banana and Alive! Men's Max Potency Multi Vitamin
8 am Vega Sports Performance Optimizer and Fruit of Choice (grapefruit most of the time)
10 am Greens Plus Chocolate Energy Bar (1) *
12 pm Greens Plus Chocolate Energy Bar (1)
2 pm Greens Plus Chocolate Energy Bar (1)
4 pm Fruit of Choice (apples most of the time)
7 pm Vega Sports Performance Optimizer
9 pm Young Coconut Juice (after work out)
10 pm Steam Vegetable Medley (Cauliflower, Broccoli, Carrots, Peas, Broad Beans, Spinach and Zucchini)

I live a very active life: 30 minutes of yoga & 2 and a half hour of cardio/weight training per day (everyday)

Please let me know if I need anything else or if my diet is pretty good well rounded. Thank you.

Hi,

You eat very samey food and it is not all that raw - depending on how you calculate % raw - you don't say how much fruit or how much greens.

Try switching to a diet that has a high raw content for 30 days. Still take your supplements if you feel secure in that but go all out raw just for 30 days and see how much better you will feel.

You can download Cron-o-meter to get a nutritional breakdown of what you eat.

Well, the bars claim to be Raw...so is the product misleading? that is the only reason why I bought them (lara bars, and other bars claim to be raw and vegan)

I eat 1 banana, 2 grapefruits and 4 apples. If i swtich to other fruits I eat about 2- 4 unless they are grapes or cherries.

And for leafy greens I just eat spinach.

I thought that I was eating 100% raw, now you made me wonder if it is so...

I looked on the website and assuming I am looking at the right bars ... they don't claim to be raw.
The Vega Sports Performance Optimizer isn't raw
The steamed veg isn't raw

This man biked yesterday 150 miles on 30 bananas. Fruits is what give you energy if you are active

http://www.youtube.com/user/liferegenerator#p/a/u/1/7_EcpsRTAWk

Greens will heal you, and nut or seeds will give you power as per this man.

Anyway, i wouldn't go with bars, most of the time the nut aren't sprout which make it very hard to digest. Your better with dry fruits if you need something to carry on you. Or sprout your nuts and make candy with them. Alissa Cohen new recipe book has great suggestion for this.

Try to eat as much fresh produce, fruits if your body can take them and leafy greens as possible. The trick is to vary the color as much as possible. Chlorella is a great supplement and contain the good b12 for your body. Spirulina is very rich in protein.

Anyway, it is important to tune in to to your body versus your fear. This way, you will find what works for you.

Something great to carry with you when you trave is chia seed. You can make a pudding in no time (add cinnamon , dry berries such goji, golden and raisin and vanilla bean), you add a little bit of water and voila.

All the best!

Angel Mom and Mystic Tree.

Allow me to ask you this question:

As I mentioned in my post I can't really taste. At par I do not like to cook nor wash dishes...lol, so; given to the fact that I can eat the same thing every day without really caring and I being happy eating between 1500 and 1700 calories a day munching on something every 2 or so hours -"what would you recommend to be it? so that I am getting all of my nutrients"

I can eat the same fruits, the same greens and the same nut (altough I am not so sure that I can commit to sprouting food)

I know that it might be a weird, generic and a blanket question, yet to me food is not a luxury nor I gain any pleasure eating, it is just a plain necesity. I have glanced a number of periodicals, books, blogs on the subject and all have very different and complex gastronomical dishes/juices/sprouts and ingredients to which I do not have the first idea where to find them. If you can say just eat this fruit, this green, this nut and with this natural multivitamin...that is all that I am looking for and all that my body is waiting to tune in to.

In advance, thank you

I really don't think we can answer this for you. It's not a question of eat abc and you'll be ok. You need to research what is in various foods and even though you don't taste foods, you presumably have texture preferences.

If you can't commit to to sprouting a few sprouts can you tell me why we should commit to doing your research for you?

A couple facts, that you might want to ask prior you assume lazyness on my behalf: I travel 5 to 6 days out of the week. So I do not think nor the TSA would look kindly on me carrying sprouts or the sprouts would appreciate being shipped off every other day to a different location. So sprouts are out of the equation.

That being answered, this is a forum and a defenition of such word is:

"A public meeting or presentation involving a discussion usually among experts and often including audience participation."

So in a way this is my research. The fact that I am Up in the Air everyother day I need to find from experts the info that I seek, so I can apply it to my lifestyle. If you dont feel like helping me out, then do not waste your energy answering my post, since with the energy that you spent giving me the round about you could off just given some suggestions.

Finally, I just care about nutrition and being healthy. So, to be clear I do not care about taste, texture, color, feel, size, shape, etc. I just care about being able to get to my destination, pop in to the first farmers market or store, buy the suggestions and be marry.

That being said, to any person that could give me a hand please let me know what could be 3 of the best fruits, greens/vegetables, multivitamins (or natural supplements) that I could EASILY buy (try going to some of the places that I go and trying to find Raw Chocolate and Goji Berries) and eat everyday and be a healthy individual

To that kind soul, thank you very much

There aren't three best fruits and veg that will suffice. You need a wide range of foods. I can't recommend a supplement because I don't take them and I am not in your part of the world so don't know what brands are available to you.

Buy a copy of Alissa's 1st book Living on Live Food and read that on your plane journey. This will help you with the raw lifestyle. Also check out http://www.rawfoodtalk.com/forumdisplay.php?17-Need-to-know-more-about-raw

Y (http://www.rawfoodtalk.com/forumdisplay.php?17-Need-to-know-more-about-raw)ou will have to travel with foods if you want to live a raw lifestyle. You can carry sprouts ready sprouted and there are automatic sprouters that will attend to things while you are away or you can buy ready sprouted. It does take quite a bit of organisation and determination to be raw.

In advance, thank you

I hear you.

Ok, i will make suggestion but please know it is very healthy to do a mono diet for one day. Seriously, if you eat just fruit, your body will love you because it will allow your lymphatic system to unplug and it will give you a boost of energy to do your daily activity. It doesn't require any preparation.

Now to answer your question to bring you peace.

Get the book Rawsome by Brigitte Mars. It is a fantastic book talking about the content of nutrient in each food and the good news it isn't an expensive book but it is so informative

The rule of thumb: Eat as much of variety of color among fruit and vegetables (you will cover this way most of nutrient)

Learn to do green smoothie (so easy to make and it takes about 3 min), they are rich in chlorophyle, they balance your body and provide with wonderful amino acid. Leafy greens or herbs such spinach, kale, green salad, cilantro, basil, dill, holy basil, parsley and even wild edible green. A good book would be to check in the rawfamily.com (Victoria Butenko), they have amazing idea with smoothie

Extra nutrient, you can add this in your smoothie (hemp seeds for essential fatty acid and great nutrient, gojji berry for the iron and vitamin C , golden berry so rich also)

You can buy sprout and add them in your smoothie (sunflower sprout are amazing, they have B12 and D)

Chia seed you can add them in your smoothie and you can also make a pudding with cinamon and vanilla bean (i add lemon juice and slice banana). They are great food to bring with you when you travel.

Great supplement to bring with you and to take is Chlorella it has the B12 that your body can take and spirulina, it is so rich in protein.

With raw food, you ditch the counting calorie, there isn't any need seriously. If you can tolerate fruits, i would do fruits from the morning up to lunch at least. This will give you so much energy. You can have a green smoothie in the morning too.

I hear you with your condition, i have a friend of mine with the same thing. I recall that when he was running with his friend, he could smell barbecue or farm at time. Running get your lymphatic fluid circulating. I would check with dr. Morse if i was you, he specialize in unblocking the lymph system. Google dr. Robert Morse. He has a youtube channel.

Sending you much love and hoping that i answered your questions.

P.S I was reading your list of food, you can stick with your banana and coconut water. I would cut down dramatically with your bar, the vega from Brendon Brazier is fine but only as an emergency. I would get a juicer if i was you and make vegetable juice instead. It doesn't take that long to make. Since your time is valuable and you don't seem to have much, i would get a juicer that is quick such a Breville with large mouth that you don't need to cut your stuff. Google Dan Liferegenerator youtube, he has many recipe for juice. I personally like my twin gear green star because it doesn't oxidate your juice but it takes longer the a centrifuge so you may want to go with the centrifuge for now and you could bring it with you when you travel. I love the omega vert for travel because it is small and it does everything but it is a slow speed juicer and it takes a little bit more time but you have no oxidation
