Hey,

Whats up? My name is Kevin and im 24. I've had M.S. along with its sucky benefits for 7 years now. My vision has started to take a turn for the worse just in the last 2 months. Static vision/visual snow, blurry, double vision in corner of eyes. So now I am juicing in hopes of helping my eyes. Any suggestions would be appreciated, and im glad to be here.

Kevin

Hi Kevin,

Welcome to the forum. There are stories online and in books about MS symptoms being lessened/halted by eating a raw food diet.

You don't say what else you eat apart from the juices and if it isn't raw then we don't discuss it on the forum but if you are eating cooked, non vegan foods then you might like to give it up and try raw food for a month or two so you can see the benefits that will apply specifically to you (we all react differently but POSITIVELY to a raw diet).

Hi Kevin, if you haven't already done so, you should also check for heavy metals.

Some people with MS symptoms actually have mercury at the root of their health issues. I must stress, this is only some people. I am absolutely not implying that everyone with MS symptoms is misdiagnosed and is instead mercury intoxicated. However, mercury is definitely something which should be checked for in someone with MS symptoms as mercury is able to instigate a huge array of neurological symptoms, some of which are remarkably similar to those of MS.

Certainly, mercury can do some very weird things to the visual system, and I say that from personal experience (I do not have MS but I do have mercury intoxication). Personally, I've experienced huge numbers of 'floaters' in my vision, occasional double vision, increasing difficulty in focusing my eyes, and some very odd neurologically-based visual anomalies (one might be tempted to refer to them as hallucinations but this would be inaccurate as they are very definitely in the domain of the visual system, not the imagination).

Although I don't have them all the time, I have experienced a 'dimming' of vision for brief periods, as if there was less light in the room. I don't mean darker, but more in the sense of 'washed-out' colours and contrast. It's subtle but definite.

I've also experienced what I suspect you may mean by 'visual snow' - kind of like a television set that isn't tuned into any station. That's unpleasant and disconcerting but I'm thankful that it hasn't been a permanent experience, just a transient one.

Have you ever experienced 'geometric' patterns in your field of vision? I have, and that's what I was alluding to with my mention of what some people would be tempted to (incorrectly) label as a 'hallucination'. It's damned weird but beautiful at the same time.

What I will say, at this point, is you would be very wise to avoid eating or drinking cilantro until you have at least established whether or not you have heavy metal intoxication.

Arky,

Your visual symptoms sound like me,however I have brain lesions too so. I met someone whos treated M.S.,and hes had me on a different kind of diet last 3 months (wow, cant believe its been that long). Cutting a lot of dairy and gluten (but not totally),and drinking some herbal type teas daily,as well as some supplementation and herbs, and juicing and produce eating. well guess what. ..3 months later,no change, and hes puzzled, and blown away. So,now I think im ready to go raw. I am tired of playing around with this. The positive thing is, the last 3 months have been a good time I guess of getting me ready for no processed stuff, and what not. I LOVE juicing,it really fills me up. I can go hours without food.

Something is NOT right, something happened. 2003-2004 was when the first symptom I got was tingling sensation in my feet, then for first time in my life at age 16 I developed sinus allergies. Then I go IBS. Then constant fatigue came, then joint pain, then brain fog, then vision changes, and on and on. I mean my health started dropping like a bomb out of no where. healthy all my life, until age 16. So..what happened to my immune system? something did..

Whats interesting is,the last 2 years I lived in Oklahoma. I'm originally from Pennsylvania, well as soon as I move back,my health gets worse. My bladder can't hold as much for long,my vision got worse. Soooo,yeah..I feel like im a little crazy :)
thanks

In all honesty..its hard for me to believe I have M.S.,because of the sudden onset of symptoms, and at my age, being 24..I dont know..its just weird..

However, all this started after I started working for mcdonalds, hm...and I worked there for 2 years. I started working there in June of 2003,and I started to develop allergies that fall. hmmmm
