Hello! I'm a 34 year old mother of 2 teenage boys. I have Celiacs and my youngest suffers from a variety of food allergies. We've been researching and trying a variety of diet options and allergen-free (i.e. fake food) recipes over the last few years and stumbled upon a documentary touting the benefits of a juice fast. A little more research led us to the raw food diet. We've been eating about 75% raw for 2 weeks now and LOVE it! I've found it easier to shop, easier to prepare meals, and our options are greater, with more variety, and even more convenient to prepare than anything we've ever tried! Energy levels are higher, moods are better, acne is clearing and tummies are happy:) We are moving slowly to 100% raw, but I've always found a slower transition works better and lasts longer with us. I'm open to any ideas, recipes and advice!

Hello and welcome! I recently joined myself, though am not new to raw food. For me the toughest part has been letting go of the typical American mindset about food. Have found Alissa's book to be an incredible help in that regard. There is a TON of info out there as you no doubt discovered, glad to hear you're taking your time transitioning. I've been over 95% raw for five days or so, and allergies, knee pain, acne, mood, headaches - all that - is definitively better.
