I want to stop eatting meat, but it just doesn't seem possible. I have increased the amount of fruit I eat and I have been getting more greens into my diet. But, as many of you might have noticed these foods just don't fill you up for long.

I might start by having some kind of fruit for breakfast. I had watermelon today. And then about lunch time I start with some greens on a plate with a cut up apple mixed into it. Then I add some good fat. About a teaspoon of olive oil. Then I sprinkle about a tsp of dulse flakes onto the salad for extra minerals. Sometimes I will make it with pieces of carrots instead of apple. And sometimes instead of eating it as a salad I will blend it in the blender and drink it.

With in an hour after eating this I will be hungry again and will eat something with meat. It seems like I have to have meat though in order fill full. Has anyone had this problem? How do you get meat out of the diet when nothing else makes you feel full.

Here is my advice:
Get a copy of "The China Study" to read
Watch the movie "Earthlings"
Eat a LOT more raw fruit and vegetables, go to http://cronometer.com/ and work how many calories you need a day and eat as much produce as it takes to reach that.

These are the kind of meals I eat often and they really fill me up: 10 bananas, 15lb watermelon, 4lbs grapes, 20 plums, 1lb dates, 1-2 heads celery/spinach/romaine, etc.

- keep alot of bananas around . walnuts go good with and provide good fat / protein to act as a heavy fuel in gut like meat would

- on mixed greens salads add alot of avacado / chopped walnuts / seasme seeds . lot o mushrooms and brocoli too make more filling to me

- buckwheat sprouts in morning with almond mylk poured over and things like raisins / berries / banana / fruit / nuts added

- make homemade trail mix and carry it in the 16 oz or so plastic jars peanuts are sold in as they travel well , take fruit along too . then drink mix out of jars while driving / working / whatever

- make almond mylk or hemp mylk smoothies with bananas and other fruits / flavoring / sweetners

* and what made me go and stick to vegan 18 years ago was i quit trusting ANYBODY when i realized liars ran the kingdom . i said thats it were all on our own and looking to a god thing for help or my destiny was idiotic , i had to think for self . i decided that my best option was to predict were reincarnating life after life , with no god thing ever going to make us what we want to be and we'll have to learn / grow on our own in order to attain an eternal body state and our ultimate dreams . and how we spend time each body span is determining the ' roots ' were growing on our souls , these roots being responsible for how great / energized our next bodys shall be . life after life , thousands / millions / etc of years living a body sppan til it wears out and then having to do it all over again til we eventually learn how to make body last forever . thusly we on our own are in COMPLETE control of how long it takes us to become what we want , or how god worshipers term it ' heaven ' . so i started thinking ive got to get on my own life foundation and design my own style life form of the universe which im focused on evolving into . and the number one point i kept reaching was that because all creatures feel pain EXACTLY like i do i shouldnt exist as a predator / meat eater when i can live off plants . and that i should only kill out of self defense . i decided i completely believe the ultimate life form of the universe is a plant eater and ide thusly never go against that and live as a parasite upon other beings . so even though ide been a huge meat eater all my 33 years previous and it was a total struggle to feel filled up and strong i stuck to my outlook and kept working at finding the diet to make me a plant eater

You may need some more water in your diet also. Sometimes the body confuses thirst for hunger so i'd say drink at least a cup before and after eating. Also maybe you need to be in a transitional stage and eat more nuts as they are really filling and eventually your body will calm down and you wont be as hungry as often. I've also read trying soaked grains works and i can say that yes they are super filling! I had raw oatmeal and i went 6 hours before i was truly hungry again lol i was amazed!

To add on to this advice, drinking 2-3 liters of water a day minimum(more if intense exercise) so youre urinating clear everytime means youre properly hydrated. But dont drink lots of water too close to eating often as it can mess with digestion, usually a half hour before and an hour after are good reccomendation for drinking water and eating.

Yeah, eating fruit and vegies wouldn't fill me for long either.

Try this:

do a good cleanse using a quality intestinal cleanse to speed up the internal cleaning process. This will help get over the heavy foods.

Then start eating and blending sprouted foods. Get plenty of sprouted beans, grains, seeds and nuts into you. lt will take lots of work, but it is worth it and will make you like `superman' in no time. They will fill you up nicely.

lf you are too lazy to sprout all your meals, try this....blend soaked sesame and chia seeds and have it with greens. But if you do this it must be balanced out with high calorie carbohydrate meals via sprouted grains, legumes or even including some fruit to toip it off.

You need to eat larger amounts of raw foods and often you need to eat between meals - depending on what and how much you are eating at each mealtime.

Sprouted seeds and grains are very helpful at bulking food out and they are inexpensive too.
Bananas are a good, filling food. Instead of the olive oil (you seem to be rationing it otherwise I would suggest as well as) add a chopped avocado to your salads. Raw dates are good for a sugar hit and they are quite filling. I have those sometimes if I feel like eating the wrong things.

Basically you aren't eating enough to make you feel full so eat more and ignore the meat!

I think you need more substance like nuts and avocados. I used to make stuff like apple cobbler with almond flour crust, apples, honey and nut flour and coconut buttler crumble. That filled me up and I would eat it throughout the day. I also buy these things called Power Wraps from Gopals Health Foods on the internet. They are kind of like a Slim Jim in texture. Here are the ingredients:

Italian Power Wraps

Ingredients:

Organic Sunflower Seeds, Organic Sesame Seeds, Organic Sun Dried Tomatoes, Organic Raw Nori (Fish Free), Nutritional Yeast, Organic lemon, Celtic Sea Salt ® and Organic Spices.

The website is http://gopalshealthfoods.com/

Try buying Alissa's book and experimenting with some of the more substantial meals. When I started raw, for the first 2-3 weeks, I had to gorge myself on raw stuff and after that my cravings and hunger tapered off and I actually began to eat much much less.

Give it some time.

Maybe you are going through emotional detox. Consider to get a colonic hydro therapy (Research to see if this is for you), it has helped so many people.

If you are going to go buy this sad food, then consider to learn to make raw gourmet food to satisfy you. You can make a nice pate. Eat more whole fruits and eat more leafy greens. Add vegetable juice. Do some body movement.

Spirulina is very rich in protein and chlorella has the good B12 for your body.

Sad food is very carcinogen and especially the cook animal product. Get the DVD a diet for all reason. Watch the new movie forks over knives. Or get the dvd A diet for a new America, this will do the trick for those craving

Here is a nice youtube that i watch today. This man is crossing America on bike with mostly fruits and leafy greens.
