Hi all,

I found this to be be very interesting. I knew that in Madison, Wisconsin, that they took the pop machines and junk food machines out of the schools and that the academic scores improved as well as behavior.

Well now they are using the local farmers produce for the schools lunches. This helps their local community, brings down the cost for foods in the school and is much healthier for the students (although not raw, but much healthier than before):

I just don't understand how school lunches went wrong in the first place. And why do the majority of schools, who MUST be aware of the positive results with feeding nutritious lunches continue to ignore it???

But Madison is different in so many ways... I'm not surprised to hear this is starting there. What a magnificant idea! Now if they can patronize only organic farmers :)
