Is there anything that can be added to change the texture and add some sweetness? I tried adding fruit and berries but it still wasnt sweet enough.
When I add ice its all good because it becomes more like an icey but when i dont add ice the texture is a little weird. As I make them at night and stick them in the fridge ready for work the next day (due to living with room mates I dont want to wake them up by using the blender) I cant really add ice because it melts. Does anyone have any ideas?
Also what are good things to add that sweeten up smoothies.

I'm not clear. You're asking about texture or are you asking about sweetness? Sweetness? more fruit or, a sweetener... stevia, agave, honey, dates, etc. I never use ice in my smoozies, so, can't help you there. I'm not sure what a weird texture is unless you're not blending enough.

Instead of ice I use frozen fruit. You might try that if you haven't.
Dates and figs do make good sweeteners for smoothies. Apple, bananners. Fresh picked stevia leaf is my top choice to sweeten them up with, cause you get all that much more chlorophyl and other phytochems.

I think dates will be the better option. Finally what did you use please share with us.

if you ARE asking about texture, cashews might help with that. They won't melt and if you blend it enough (in a powerful enough blender), it has a very creamy texture. Also, as an aside, I had a very good smoothie at whole foods the other day called the "Impeachmint": coconut water, spinach, mint and peaches. Yum!

I fixed my problem! I added yogurt and blended for about 10x as long. It totally changed the way it tastes and feels texture wise :)

Not so sure yogurt is such a good idea - not vegan, not raw...try some coconut meat or the soaked cashews mentioned earlier.

yeah, yogurt isn't a very raw-friendly solution. :-/

If you use nut yogurt that would be ok but dairy yogurt isn't

I use frozen fruit. I have bnever added ice to a smoothie in over 2 years I have been raw. I use bananas if I must have a sweetner.
My normal smoothie is an orange, spinach, flax, spirulina, strawberries and occasionally coconut water. But I don't add bananas anymore.
And a good high speed blender makes a nice smooth smoothie :)
