Good morning!

I'm in to day three of my juice fast. It's all going good. My husband who works out of town and comes home every other weekend will be home this Friday. I've gotten him to agree to do a GS fast for the weekend.

That's a start. But, there is some resistance from him that I'm sure to face IF I can't keep him full and satisfied. He's used to doing the GS for breakfast but never for 2 and a half days.

He usually has frozen bananas, peaches, mangoes, pineapple and fresh spinach along with coconut oil.

Any suggestions as to what I can add that will give him that full feeling and help keep him on track for the weekend? I'm doing so good and don't want to be sabotaged by his negativity.....which leads to frustration on my part. I will continue juice fasting but I have created a very calm environment and don't want to deal with any negative feelings.

I think his resistance comes from when I went back to being vegetarian several years ago. He planted his feet firmly and declared he would NEVER become a vegetarian so I think any hint that that might be happening makes him very defensive.....he's fine doing a GS for breakfast but he's gonna eat his meat and potatoes.....

Wow, did I need to vent or what? lol

Thanks for any advice. Hemp seeds? Psyllum? Help!

ide start the smoothie off by making almond mylk / sun flower seed mylk / hemp seed mylk / etc to heartify it , the fat and protein bring the heavy fuels to burn . the fruit the sugar ignitor and the greens minerals to make it a entire meal just sans solid fiber

I don't even make the nuts/seeds into mylk. I just add them to the smoozie. Just make up a full blender of smoozie and divide it into 3. He can drink all three before noon. Then make up another blenderful and do the same for the afternoon.

Already blended foods are going to go through him faster than something that has to be digested. Drink/eat more!!

Thanks Revell,

So, I can soak some almonds overnight and then add them to a blenderful....much easier.

I'll be working on Saturday from about 11am till about 5pm so I'll be sure to make plenty for him to have on hand. And advise him to drink lots of water!

Brilliant!

Some very filling green smoothies I make often for myself:
10 bananas, 1 head romaine lettuce
10 bananas, 1/2lb spinach
1lb dates, 3 bananas, 1/2 bunch kale
(Make sure the bananas are ripe with spots!)
Hope that helps!

Wow! That's alot of bananas! I'm sure it would be very filling though.

I will go heavy on the bananas and maybe add some nuts as well.

Thanks Steven!
