Greetings from SoCal! My name is Tricia and I'm so happy to have found this board! We live in south Orange County, California, and have just recently become empty nesters (*Sweet!*).

I first got acquainted with raw food last year at a raw food seminar by Alissa at the Living Temple in Huntington Beach, CA. I'd been having a tough time rehab-ing after a serious injury and a friend suggested I try 100% raw to complete healing. The seminar was terrific...especially getting to taste Alissa's creations! I remained raw for the rest of the year until the holidays when I fell off the wagon a bit. Since then I've been about 50/50, but don't feel as healthy or as energetic as when 100% raw so I'm starting over. I've been busy visiting the recipe thread, those caramel apples sound so delicious.

My DH is fine with being a vegetarian but isn't too thrilled with 100% raw, and that's fine, of course, but it gets difficult for me. I do okay during the day until dinner, or if we go out, and then it gets real difficult real fast.

I look forward to getting to know everyone, it will be so nice to share experiences with others who prefer to live this lifestyle!

Welcome Tricia!!

I knew the holidays would be a tough time for most, and that's why I suggested we have a 90 day commitment/challenge to get a big group together to support each other throughout the holiday season. So far we have 38 members doing this. Not sure if you'd like to come along, but it's not too late if you're interested.
We have two journal type things/discussion groups. One is called Rockin90s (http://www.rawfoodtalk.com/photopost/showgallery.php?cat=500&ppuser=2452) on here and the other is on a Yahoo group here (http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/rawkin90s/). Check them out if you're interested.

Again welcome, and I wish you well on your 100% goal!

Hi Tricia,

I missed your intro ... and, having been infrequently on the forum lately, just noticed a post of yours and your location.

Welcome to the rapidly growing ranks of those living the raw and living foods lifestyle in this area ... and, of course, to this wonderful forum, though you're certainly a veteran here by now.

Best regards -- and maybe we'll run into each other at one event or another. Are you going to hear either Tonya Zavaste or Doug Graham at The Living Temple in the next two weeks?
