Hi all,

Sorry to jump straight in here without introduction, but I'm experiencing something weird that I need some advice on.

I've been 100% raw for 8 days no (veggie for a year and healthyish eating habits before too)

However, waking up this morning I suffered really bad dizzyness, nausea, and *ahem* the runs. It was pretty scarey, and I could barely balance when standing. When I laid down the room spun. It was like the worse hangover without the 'fun' beforehand. I tried to drink lots of water but it made me sick. After two hours of napping I made myself go downstairs, had a banana and cooked myself a veggie sausage in pitta with tomato and mushroom and put some himalayan salt on too and that seems to have sorted me nausea wise but i still feel dizzy.

Is this to do with detox (i'm also pmt, sorry guys!)...was I lacking in salt and sugar levels or was it to do with my body 'clearing out' toxins between the 4am-12pm cycle after having gone 100% raw over night. Was my body in shock? I'm confused. Don't want to experience that again.

The thing is...my friend who is going raw with me had exactly the same thing happend last monday....when she was pmt too....is this a pattern? She is much more healthier than me so she must have gone through the detox process more quickly.

Has anyone experienced similar?

Hello by the way

Drinking lots of water at once will induce vomiting... always sip it if you need to take on fluids.

The symptoms could be detox or a tummy bug. See how you feel in the next day or so and meantime go easy on yourself and don't get up suddenly.

Sip at water and sleep if you can. Sleep is such a good healer.

If eating something cooked made you feel better then it may be detox. SAD/cooked foods slow/stop your detox.

When you are getting up... do so slowly. It'll assist with being dizzy. Probably just your blood pressure being lower due to your cleaner diet.

I think it may be heavy detox from alcohol. I used to drink a couple of glasses of wine or beers 4 or 5 times a week. This had been going on for 3 or more years. It feels like a hangover. The spinning room is still here 6 hours on but I dont feel sick or have the other issue so it must be passing.

I'm so angry with myself for having put that poison in my in the first place. Now i'm paying the price i guess!

Gutted also that I felt i 'had' to eat cooked food after doing so well. Ah well/. It's a journey and there will be stops and starts I guess.

You'll get there in the end if you want it badly enough and I think you probably do :)

Good attitude. Don't give up on this. It all takes time. So what if you ate a little cooked food. You are still on your path and that is what is important. :heart

I experienced a lot of the same things you are talking about...especially the dizziness. I wish I could tell you that is was definitely detox, but I'm not sure - Menere's disease runs in my family.

But stick with it anyway! :hug

I did experience something similar to this and mine struck out of no where since when i woke up i was fine and normal and then out of no where i'm in the grocery store feeling like an old person trying not to go in my pants and then i was dizzy and throwing up. It only lasted half the day and then i felt better. I just sipped on water, called off work, and laid around all day. I think it's a form of detox and it'll definitely pass.

I'm sorry your having a rough detox day but like everyone said hang in there and take it easy.

WELCOME AND CONGRATS ON YOUR NEW RAW JOUNEY!!! We're here for you:throwhearts:
