Hi everyone,

my name is Jania and I'm new here. I'm 24 and have started a rawfood/green-smoothie-challenge couple of days ago, after eating 50%raw the last couple of weeks. So on Monday I began drinking green smoothies all throughout the day, one in the morning, fruits and salad in the afternoon, and one smoothie in the evening, maybe a banana a bit later as well. So it's an 80% raw diet I would say. Today is day 3 and I am feeling reilly weird, a bit dizzy, feverish (as if Im about to get fever), and like on drugs...!? I am perspiring all of the time, even though I'm not drinking teas or anything hot. My smoothies today for example have been banana+chard+coconutwater+spinach; I have used spinach all of these days, could that be the reason...? I hope this is detoxification and not some kind of illness..! :)

Thank you tons in advance and all the best from Germany,

xxx

I doubt it's the spinach causing this.

I don't know how much coconut water/juice you've been using but it's just possible that you may be experiencing hypo- or hyper-glycaemia (low or high blood sugar) if you're consuming too much fruit and coconut water.

detox is common. both my wife and I felt like we were getting a cold or the flu for several days. make sure you are drinking a lot of water. water is a good thing and will help you flush your body.

your process is very close to what we do. we do mix up the green smoothies a little. we might do kale and spinach one week and then mostly lettuce the next. then we will lean hard on carrots and back off greens a bit for a day or so. for us this has worked very well. in addition the lunch/afternoon smoothie has almost always been heavy on fruit. and then the evening has been huge salads with everything we can get our hands on. sometimes also veggie sushi or raw spring rolls. oh and dont forget the banana based icecreams!

we just completed 30 days at 100% and feel great. being as realistic as we can, we plan to stay at the very least 80-90% and vegan.

good luck and stick with it! your body will thank you :)

Thank you a lot guys! It feels good to have support, as most people surrounding me don't really know this raw food way of life and find it reaaally weird. that's why i asked you and not the doctor, he would tell me Im crazy and I should eat "normal" hehe.

cheers!
