I have been dabbling with raw for approximately 10 months now. I wanted to make sure I could truly make delicious foods to eat and still be satisfied. So I started with perfecting the staple of all diets, DESSERTS!!! WOW, I loved them. I shared them with friends and they liked them.
So I decided a couple weeks ago I could do this and would go 100% raw on 7/11/11. Although I did not end up being 100% raw I will say I was 96% raw. I figure 96% because I had a Dr. Pepper, Hostess Pie (cause it just looked so good but then it wasn't) cheese and a corn tortilla with dinner, so I took off 1% for each of those. I figured out with the pie that homemade raw chocolate is tastier. I didn't have time to make me some tortillas so I stuck with buying store bought (note to self, make your own they taste better), but the grated cheese is going to be my downfall.
Breakfast was a cantaloupe, strawberry, peach, banana, almond milk smoothie and a Mexican scramble. I had Chia pudding made with cantaloupe water, nutmeg, cinnamon and mango for a snack (both mid-morning and mid-day). Lunch was falafels with sprouted rice and homemade peach salsa (which might I add was amazing). Dinner was nut tacos. The amount of energy I had was amazing.
Today is day 2. I guess all is good cause everyone around me is still alive (j/k). I am having the same breakfast and lunch today, with marinated mushrooms, but dinner will be different, I'm not sure what yet, but different. So here's to being raw. The lunch truck will be here in a few so I will need to keep myself away.
Now if I can only come up with a raw recipe for Dr. Pepper and real tasting Cheddar and Provolone cheese. Hope everyone is having a great day.
