View Full Version : In Love with Food Again

I have always been a foodie. I had reached a stage though where everything I ate was a disappointment. Maybe the first mouthful would be ok but the rest was just going through the motions of emptying the plate. Most meals left me feeling unsatisfied and yet horribly full and uncomfortable.

I've just realised that since going raw again I haven't had those feelings after a meal. There are occasions when I have eaten too much salad and felt a bit of a pig but I've never left an empty plate of raw food already trying to work out what I could eat that would "do the job" whatever that was of making me feel full and satisfied and maybe even happy.

Every raw food I eat is satisfying - in itself and also as part of the whole day that makes up my eating pattern - I am in love with food again :throwhearts:

do you soak your greens and/or in a vinegar solution to kill off microorganisms that may be harboring inside?

That could help.

Also mixing too many fruits and fats, or having too many fats with salad could be an issue. Especially if you have a lot of dampness in the body which may make you retain fluids. Not soaking nuts/seeds, etc.

no, I didn't...

then you have no idea what I said in my opening post.

I said I love my raw food and have no problems like I used to have with cooked foods.

Mystic, I totally get what you were trying to say, and I agree wholeheartedly! In fact, I think the way you said it elegantly sums up how I have been feeling about raw food too. :-)

I don't understand why it's not on topic. You mentioned salads so I mentioned soaking greens in a solution to kill off microorganisms. Or also mixing too much fruits with too much fats in a salad, or too much fats in general.

You might have felt like eating for any number of reasons. I know when I was starting out I didn't feel like eating because I was always bloated. I ate my foods cold which I thought were also the problem. Cold as in straight out of the fridge cold. And without soaking my greens, or nuts, and mixing fruits with fats.

That said it could also be part of the transition going from cooked to raw, as your body starts to begin craving what you're eating most currently to get the nutrients it needs rather than what you were used to before. Also digestion improving as it's getting used to raw foods and coming into a balance.

Please don't take my post as offensive.

but you are suggesting a solution to a problem I don't have so that is why what you wrote is so incongruous.
