Ok, so I posted this on another board bc I didn't see this one. Sorry in advance if you see it twice!

Ok, so I want to juice feast. I am BFing my 6 month old son and do not plan to wean him soon. I would like to juice feast before I quit BFing (I think we are probably looking at at least another year), so my question is, how long would my body take to do the major detoxing during a juice feast?
When would it be safe to resume BFing? (my guess is 5-10 days, is that about right?)
I plan to store enough milk to get us through the major detox while I pump and dump and then resume BFing once its safe.
Thanks in advance!

Personally? I wouldn't think this would be too good an idea. For one it seems you would need a lot more calories while feeding your baby.... for two, I am not sure one can plan out the number of days your body will be detoxing. I am on my... dang I lost count, I think my fourth or fifth major juice fast right now, and I'm still having new detox symptoms and it's been different for every fast. So while you might get through an initial detox stage and go back to feeding your baby, it's possible that something major is still about to detox and it wouldn't be good to pass that along in your milk.

Just my opinion based on what I would probably choose if it were me, but I'm no expert! I'm sure others will have more to say.

I don't recommend you fast while breastfeeding. Your milk supply will lower and could even dry up. Also the toxins to your baby throughout the fast would not be wise at all.

I would recommend you slowly convert to a raw food diet instead and go that route.

You can also add juices to your daily regime but fasting is unwise IMO

I agree with what everyone else is saying and before going on any kind of diet or fast while breastfeeding I would recommend that you consult your doctor.
