View Full Version : Will the weight loss taper off?

When I started eating a primarily raw diet 4 weeks ago I weighed 175 pounds. I am 6 ft tall. I am now at 153 for a total loss of 22 pounds thus far.

Weight loss was not my focus for this, I want to be healthy and I understand this is a by-product of that.

I'm sure I'm not meeting my caloric needs for the day but I really just eat when I'm hungry. I found myself to be less hungry since starting this new venture. Must be the fiber. I don't consume nuts or seeds as it seems to irritate my digestion, so I've been heavy on the veg and lighter on the fruit due to yeast.

So my question is, will the weight loss hit a point where it levels off? I really don't want to eat when I'm not hungry...

I feel pretty good overall now that my digestion is sorting out... just wondering about the weight...

when you were eating nuts, were you soaking them? It makes a huge difference. Also I recommend sprouted seeds and grains. You can buy them sprouted or sprout your own at home. What about avocados and raw oils? There is more to fats than just nuts and seeds.

I have flax seed oil in all my dressings that I make, I don't eat avocado overly much as the taste is so strong. I just sprouted mung beans, again they seem to have a very strong taste. I'll keep at them though I'm sure I'll acquire a taste for them :) STILL waiting for my book from Alissa, so how to get healthy fats/protein in seems to be a challenge.

Is there another sprouted bean/grain with a milder taste which also has protein? I would appreciate any suggestion you may have to increase this in my diet.

I use buckwheat and quinoa and find them mild tasting. But I find mung bean mild tasting. How long are you sprouting them for? I do it so they are only a little bit sprouted and certainly eat them before the leaves come. Say up to 1/2 inch of root and no more - much less for buckwheat and quinoa.

I am surprised also that you find avocados to have strong flavor. Perhaps you could look up some recipes for avocado puddings. Coconuts (young) are also a good source of fat.

If your body is getting the nutrition it needs, the weightloss should taper off. Different bodies find their balancing points in different places.

Although your goal is not weight loss, I must say congratulations, anyway :).
Please continue to share your experiences with finding healthy fats and protein sources. I too am finding that this is a tricky issue.
