Hi

I am freaking out here seriously. I have been trying to go raw. I have had no cooked foods at all this week. I started out eating mostly fruit.
B, 1/2 mellon
S, apple and cucumber and tomatoes
L Watermellon
S apple and mango
D Cucumber, tomatoes and whatever veggies I can find
S some kind of fruit.

Then I started making smothies in a blender. I use apple, mango, strawberry, cucumber and thats it oh other than water. I drink 3 liters of water everyday, I always have...

I drink this off and on all day and it keeps me full

I got on the scale and I gained weight. I feel heavier in the legs. Its like I am just holding on to everything
its no PMS bloating but I know if this keeps up I will stop this becasue I can not afford to gain any weight. I am too fat as it is.

Can someone please explain what might be going on...

firstly I don't think you are eating enough.

Secondly, you may have been dehydrated previously and the weight gain is actually your body hydrating properly.

You need to eat lots of raw foods - especially since you aren't eating any fats - in order to get enough calories for your body to function.

Get healthy first (raw food and exercise) and worry about weight second. Too much emphasis is put on losing weight.

I resonate with Georgina, it could be a water gain.

Look at testimonial, look at youtube. Google for the raw truck driver, etc... and see for yourself.

Don't give up on raw food, you are doing great and don't try to lose weight please. This isn't a diet but a life style. Focus on your health always, your body needs nutrients to repair itself, to make you look young and healthy. Losing weight will be the side effect of health.

I bet your skin look much better already. About pans, are they loser or tight.

You only did this for one week. Take the plunge and do a 30days commitment to reset the craving you may have.

Continue to eat as much fresh fruits, vegetables and leafy greens. Consider juicing and keep taking your smoothie.

Focus on your health, this way you can give yourself permission to feel you have accomplish your goal already, the rest will fall into place naturally.

Congratulations with your raw journey!

I forgot to mention, when we are stress out, we can start gaining weight for no apparent reason. I would consider to go for nice walk outside. I learned that tip from Brendan Brazer. He is very knowledgeable. He gives an internet free class rawin30 (just google).

The raw food decrease a lot of stress in the body, because it is easier to digest so this isn't the problem for sure. You need to give a chance to your body to repair itself and you can do that with controlling your emotions, making healthy choice and doing anything to release stress (yoga, deep breath etc...)

Our mind cans be our worst enemy, don't believe your mind and trust in your power. You have what it takes to be successful.

All is well!

I am not counting calories. I eat until I am full. All the fiber and water is really keeping me full. I say that to say I dont think I am eating too little.

Its not that I am doing this JUST to lose weight . I am doing this to feel better and teach my kids how to make better food choices. In my mind of you are eating healthy then you will get to a healthy weight.I am not in a rush to I know this will take time, but when you weigh over 250 and see yourself gaining it will make ANY person in this situation a bit crazy

I doubt id I was dehydrated. I never drink anything but water. I dislike soda, cant drink coffee unless I am sick I dont touch tea. I LOVE water. have alwasy drank atleast 3 liters a day.

I am just at a loss. I just want to fix whatever I am doing wrong.

try to get more greens and see about adding in sprouts.

And give it a little more time, it is likely a temporary gain that will flush out suddenly and then some.

I would love more veggies. I am in an area where they are hard to find. I am teaching overseas. I can find fruits on every street corner but Veggies and another story all together. Another thing is I am only here for a few more weeks, well until early September, so I am not goig to invest in a juicer or dehydrator just yet.
The next country I am going to will have more things to chose from, until then I am stuck with the things I see right now.

Oh, BTW, the reason I have not been eating nuts or seeds is I know myself, and I will and can eat a box or can in one sitting, so I am stearing away from trigger foods.

can you at least get avocados? You are having no fat intake which will leave you short on the fat soluble vitamins etc.

another question ... is it the same scale in the same place at the same temperature and same humidity? Scales are just so unreliable!

Same scale, same room, same clothes, same time of day........I have not seen any but I will look. I LOVE them. Its just weird here. YOu can go months without seeing something and then POW there here for a week then they are gone again.
the people here live on a diet of bread, beans and rice. Their main veggies are eggplant, cucumber, tomatoes and zucinni.
I see nuts and seeds all over but I know I will over do it. Maybe I will buy a small amount everyday and that way I cant over do it.

Eat the nuts and seeds. They are good for you too. Just keep it raw. Give it time. Sometimes the body just needs to adjust. :heart

I will and can eat a box or can in one sitting,

Eat the nuts and seeds! You'll only do that for a short while. When you deprive yourself of something, your body and monkey mind want it more!

You say "box" or "can"... to me, that usually means roasted and salted. True or no? You WILL eat more if they are roasted and/or salted.

raw nuts, soaked are easy to do and taste nicer than unraw, unsoaked ones.

Lots of people eat lots of nuts when they first go raw but this eases off. You just don't crave them in large amounts after a week or so.

Don't deprive yourself. Raw shouldn't be a punishing list of things you can't eat. It is a joyous and free list of things you can eat that are health building and delicious.

I say can or box because at home, in Texas that how they came before I found HEB fresh raw nuts. Here they come in a barrel and you put them in a bag. I have seen a FEW raw nuts, ,cashews, here. I mostly see mostly salted, bbq, and other crappy things. Now that it is close to Ramadan they have tons of nuts but they are all roasted and salted....... I tell you , living overseas makes a person miss the little things at home. Like tons of fresh fruits and veggies being able to have choices in everything.

I cant wait until September. I will be able to buy almost anything then....

I have even eaten large amounts of raw nuts. I have only eaten raw nuts for about a year now. I heard DR OZ say never eat roasted nuts and from that day until now I have not. So I seriously doubt if a week or two will slow things down. BUT like I siad if I only buy a small amount everyday I should be fine.

Thanks for all your advice.......

and do soak them because, apart from ANYTHING else, they taste better!
