I've recently read Joe Alexander's Blatant Raw Foodist Propaganda for the first time. What a magnificent discovery in the local library. The last chapter of the book focuses on freeing up frozen emotional energy.
There was an interesting method in this chapter called Rebirthing, during which a person breathes through his mouth inhaling and exhaling deeply at least 40 times per minute until you feel a tingling sensation throughout the body. The author states how much this therapy worked for him.
I was just wondering if anyone has tried this Rebirthing, the results they have gotten from it, and could give me any more details as to how to perform these exercises. Thanks!

I've done it but not for any length of time.
It's often done in water, could be a bathtub with a snorkel, or in a pond or lake with other people holding the person up in a face-up floating position while they breathe.
I've done so much I really can't tell what's been the most beneficial or specific results. All I can say is, I'm much more centered and knowing who I am than I was before I began 25+ years ago.

I have NOT tried this, but now I'm totally in! I'm gonna find some info and try this myself! I'm in for anything that's supposed to help me on an energetic level at least once. LOL!

Revvell, did you experience paralysis while doing Rebirthing? That kind of scares me.
BeingK8, if you would, let me know if you try it or find out any more info.
I'm thinking of ordering Leonard Orr's Rebirthing in the New Age to get as much info as I can on the subject.

Is this for one minute or you need to achieve this number for every minute. That seem like very fast breath

At first I didn't know what you meant yet, I think you mean what happens to the hands? If so, yes. That's why it's good to do it with an experienced rebirther. Any time you do Reichian (sp? And no, not Reiki) breathing and/or rebirthing, your hands may experience tetany. It's not the same as paralysis. As my teacher said "I've never lost a hand yet!" and he's been doing this for about 35 years.
